That was really placid defense by the ABs. The Irish look so comfortable on attack - easy metres, never troubled at the ruck.
The ABs, even 3m from their own line, still didn't have the urgency to go up, meet the Irish, and make dominant tackles.
Our lack of physicality is a major problem

Familiar sights since 2018. The ABs coming off 2nd best physically in so many areas.
Look at Aaron Smith - yes he was always going to lose the contest with POM. But my goodness he is so averse to the physical stuff he didn't even try.
The Saffas leaving Super Rugby has led to ripple effects everywhere.

Just look at the urgency. We seem to have more urgency trying for a dramatic Haka than to actually tackle someone hard.

Again the dual sides of BB.

He doesn't quite have the ability to organise an attack against a rush defence - look at how dangerous sexton looks on the ball with runners from all angles.
But that intercept saved a try.
And the recovery from the long kick was committed and excellent.

Brodie Retallick finally hits someone behind the advantage line.
Is any of the AB forwards looking?
Hey. fuck's sake stop standing and waiting for them to come. Go up and hit them.
The rush is the ONLY way to defend.

The ABs are shite on defence.
Dane Coles - finally says it. LINE SPEED boys.
But the attack is pretty bad too.
There is literally no deception. It's just one up runners. Is there no game plan?

Good try.
FInally, someone who didn't just run straight. The old warrior Sam Whitelock, with a bit of deception.
The new warhorse, Leicester running with purpose and power.
A bit lucky on the final pass - not sure if Jordie is really the guy the pass was meant for. But the damage was done before that.

For our refs in here, two questions:
- when can you play the 9? Seems like refs change their minds each game.
- when can't you play the ball lying on the ground? Also seems to be applied inconsistently.
