The crowd has been disappointing at previous Gold Coast 7's tournaments, and the powers that be must be seriously looking at moving this to a more crowd friendly location unless a decent crowd turns up this year.
After an rather economical crowd roll up to the Wallabies v Pumas test at this venue recently, what are the chances that the masses will rock up to Robina next weekend?

I'll bags not many. Honestly, the sooner ARU gets over it's infatuation with the GC the better. Take the 7's somewhere people care, take the Wallabies somewhere people care. That ain't the GC (unless you're gonna go gangsta/ drug dealer styles, which probably & hopefully aren't your key demographics).

There is an extra incentive to perform this year on the circuit.

Places in 2016 Olympic Games Rugby 7's tournament are at stake.

Women's (or should that be Ladies) Rugby Sevens is to be included in the Commonwealth Games here on the GC in 2018!! Excellent news, HJ?
The Aussie "girls" will play a 3-match series against Canada in conjunction with the Men's event this weekend.

Things we didn't know about him: 1. 8 year old Clarky played soccer. 2. Clarkies Mum is a Kiwi.

WTF? Champion Saffer whistleblower Rasta Rasivhenge is now listed as refereeing under the Australian banner.

Clever recruiting by someone. Good ref.

Hugh Jarse

Rocky Elsom (76)
He's one of the better refs, and has done a fair few finals.

Pool D shaping up to be a cracker.
ARG beat Soap Dodgers 21-19.
USA beat CAN 17 - 15
SD's beat USA 14 - 7
CAN lead ARG 12 - 7 at oranges.

Will we see all all 4 Pool D teams on 4 points after two games?

Edit:Nah. ARG sneaks home v CAN by 14-12. ENG and ARG should advance to QF's.

To come ARG vs USA, and ENG vs CAN

Sports bet are paying USA $2.45 to beat the argies. That's worth putting $20 on IMO

Think you've done your dough.

USA have had opportunities to win the game, but with 1 min to go it is ARG 19 USA 12.

EDIT: More meat for ARG to take the game by 26-12. USA will rue missed opportunities and flawed execution.

Canucks will qualify to progress in Pool D if they can beat the Soap Dodgers by > 6 points.
With 3 min left in the opening stanza it is 7 - 7 but Soapies look the better team.

In time honoured fashion, the Soapies get meat and chopsticks after the siren sounds for oranges and they go to the sheds 14-7 ahead. Canucks had their chance to be leading 14-7 but couldn't land the killer blow. Soapies should run away with this game in the second 1/2 and qualify for the QF along with ARG.

Gold Coast fans doing their best to reinforce the fact they don't want any kind of first class rugby played on the GC in the future :/

WTF is there a pool match, esp Aus v Fiji, being held over until tomorrow? Winner of that is "1st Pool C", loser is "2nd Pool C".

Could anyone on the forum do me a massive favour? I have to head down at halftime to get a chance to interview someone, so I can't get the second half. Could someone put the details from the second half up on here for me?
