I agree. With the current back three, that would be an outstanding backline for Cooper to direct.

This is a similar debate to Kankowsko running JOC (James O'Connor) down, Williams was turning around and replays showed he was catching JOC (James O'Connor) quite quickly

I think this is a pointless debate to have now. It all depends on how he plays in the S15. If he tears everyone a new arsehole like he did last year, then we should be rolling out the red carpet. But precisely where he fits in, if at all, is entirely dependant on both his S15 form and the S15 form of others. I don't think any of the upcoming tests will change that.

Ioane has never played better for the Wallabies than the current back three have. Test form outweighs Super Rugby form. He has to earn his place.

Exactly. I asked the question because the current back three are playing very well. I was not sure if we wanted to break that back three up.
I would like to see Ioane in gold as I think he offers balance to the side. We have a lot of players that can set up play, but not many who will run hard and straight.
Ioane is of that mold. He could make use of teh gaps created by Cooper, Giteau, JOC (James O'Connor), Beale and Barnes.

The beauty of Ioane is that he doesn't even require gaps. Like no other Oz back he gets across the advantage line against a set defense, when there is no gap. Mitchell and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) I think are going really well and are strong in contact, but Ioane breaks tackles in traffic and that loopy gallop is pretty brisk once he's behind the line. I wonder if he'll end up like Nonu.
Still, I think that any concerns about the overflowing talent pool for our backs is a little premature. It seems remarkably unlikely there won't continue to be a procession of injuries through 2011, and I'm sure that (unless he is one of the casualties - again) he will get his chance.
Who knows, maybe Giteau will be moved to hooker in a new twist on the DGCP (Dean's Giteau Conservation Program)

A fit Diggers is a great asset for the team to have. However, I wouldn't be rearranging the currently backline too much to accomodate him. I agree with others who've said lets see how the S15 pans out next year and make a determination then. Outside backs are not in short supply at present, but I do like the prospect of JOC (James O'Connor) playing 12 and Diggers taking his wing spot.

You cannot have JOC (James O'Connor) and Diggers on the wings as then we lack explosive pace except at FB.
One of Mitchell or Turner is needed for pure speed as without it Beale is forced to remain back as at least one speedster is needed in cover.

It's amazing how Horne seems to have been completely forgotten about... If it wasn't for his injury he would probabaly still be there if you look at Roobies selection criteria (in the team until you get injured).

It only works with Cooper at 10! Neither of the two have an acceptable passing game and the only way our wingers will see the ball is via a double cut-out.

Not really. With Beale and JOC (James O'Connor) slotting in pockets in the midfield they have plenty of options. Having two powerful runners in AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Digby would let them be more creative in some of the decoy/lines they can run.

I think Diggers is pretty fast where it counts the most though - the first 10-15 metres. He is without doubt the best line breaker in the wallabies, and as another person mentioned his combination with QC (Quade Cooper) (and also Genia) adds something else. His running close to the ruck for a Gregan flick or a Cooper pass back inside is very Latham esque.
