See the Troup sub-forum.

We still need a contact/leader in each major city, to really organize a few things. Notably a pre-game pub.

I'm going to attempt to setup a password protected "active area" for the Bledisloe in Sydney.

These supporter bays will not exist come the Four Nations, probably a good thing, somewhat.

are you saying its bad because someone doesn't have ownership over it? i don't get it.

Castrol should supply a few grid girls to "cheer" in skimpy gold costumes in front of these supporter bays.

That would fire the crowd up a bit! More than a giant "Kev" anyway.

it's shit because it cheapens the whole match day experience by making appealing to the bogan idea of match day experience. a better initiative would have been funding a large pullover australia flag or wallabies flag with castrol possibly underneath or putting a flag in every seat in the supporter section. stupid corporate branded jumpsuits do not add to atmosphere, just because it's been done before and is being paid for still doesn't justify it.

I'm sorry, a big block of gold (the castrol logo is pretty small) does ad to atmosphere. The previous times they have done it in Sydney it also resulted in alot if laughs and was a great icebreaker for fans to interact.

The Tahs have had free flags this year as I've noticed the highlanders and chiefs have, I'm sure the wallabies will follow suit.

There is really nothing stupid about it, it's just good fun and I really struggle to understand how it's anything else.

You guys have a set way you go about the rebel army, that approach isn't going to work for 2000 people that are not on the same page. Unique culture needs to be developed to incourage it to continue.

Ok here is a marketing idea. Instead of boganesqe jump suits, like I suggested offer a voucher for cheaper wallabies jerseys.
I understand some people don't like wearing a jersey because they haven't 'earnt' it or a not a player. I only ever wear mine to a wallabies game and don't see a problem with it personally. I think a bay of wallabies jerseys would look pretty good compared to jump suits.
If the idea of cheaper jerseys is not cost effective enough, how about a simple gold polo with a wallabies logo and a sponsor logo, people would be more likely to wear a shirt like this post game and the sponsor would get more long term value from their investment. Make it part of the ticket deal, since the sponsor are probably paying a few dollars per suit, a basic Kooga Polo with 2 embroided logos would not be too expensive at cost price.

In the more expensive seats where people are too sensible to get involved in gold suit wearing, give them a gold wallabies scarf for $5 or $10, if they can pay hundreds of dollars for a ticket, what is $10?

Or another idea if it is looking to be a wet game, hand out free gold emergency ponchos. Even at away games. I don't think many Kiwis would wear them, but a fair few people would wear a free poncho if it was bucketing down.
You could do a special Kiwi supporter one in gold, but with a big silver fern on it. Half of them would never wear it, but it would be cheeky and get people talking.

Obviously I have not done an in depth cost analysis on the above items, but the jump suits are costing money, for a little extra the sponsors could gain longer term value from their investment while stil staying 'classy'

These suits add colour, sure. Atmosphere, not likely. We've never had issues with people wearing colours, if that's what you like. The issue has always and remains to be, lack of vocal support.

Singing is easy, people just need to grow a pair and get involved.

Not everyone pushing this is RA btw.

For the record, I approached the ARU (on behalf of the Troup) about a supporter bay. If you'd like to know more WJ, happy to discuss via PM.

Sorry to say that Aussies singing together is not likely to take off, why? Because we're fucking terrible at it, everyones off key & out of synch like a dogs breakfast. We can't even do a passable version of our national anthem for Christs sake! It's also not ingrained into our culture, probably because it sounds bloody awful. We'll never be able to take on the Brits when it comes to this...... I do wish we could & I admire your efforts to try, but I really can't see it happening..... simple chants on the other hand may work some of the time.

Feel free to PM,
I'm not having a go at the RA by the way, I'm saying the culture doesn't translate on large scale, speaking pretty much exclusively to Sydney were I was involved for years in supporters squads across a couple of sports.

Adding colour is never a bad thing in any context.

I understand you guys have done a fair bit of work on the Troup ad I look forward to hearing about it and am glad people are going to the effort.
