If you were Robbie, who would be penciled in as your current Wallaby 15?

Thought I would start it off

1 Alexander
2 TPN
3 Robinson
4 Mumm
5 Sharpe
6 Elsom
7 Pocock (back this week right?)
8 Palu
9 Genia

12 Giteau
13 Ioane
14 Mitchell
15 Ashley-Cooper

Godfrey

Phil Hardcastle (33)
I'd actually be quite happy with that. I'm a big fan of JOC (James O'Connor) but think Gits is still a better 12.

Possibly ball-boy? Or the kid who places the pill in the middle at the beginning of each half.

Think that is exactly what I would go for as well Noddy. Would like to be more confident about the Douglas/mumm combo but that has time to grow.

You serious about putting Turner anywhere near the Wallabies? I think he showed pretty convincingly last year that he isn't up to the task in defence, attack and skill set. He is possibly the weakest player in contact in any of the Aust. S14 franchises.

The question was: "if you were Robbie"

In which case Barnes would be starting, Burgess on the bench, O'Connor on the bench. Waugh and Sharpe would be gooonee, with the exception of possibly Baxter who is playing well and still has some worth as a prop.

I think Giteau would be starting flyhalf and Cooper would be on the bench. Fainga'a could be a bolter on the bench due to his set piece lineout throwing and usefulness around the field.

Hynes and Mitchell would be the wingers. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) fullback.

I may as well just write this out...

15 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14 Hynes
13 Ioane
12 Barnes
11 Mitchell
10 Giteau
9 Genia
8 Palu
7 Pocock
6 Elsom [c]
5 Chisholm
4 Mumm
3 Alexander
2 TPN
1 Robinson

16 Moore
17 Baxter
18 Douglas - I'm trying to think who else there is apart from Sharpe, but I guess he is the bolter.
19 Hodgson
20 Burgess
21 Cooper
22 O'Connor

13. Diggers
12. Gits
11. Shmoo
10. Cooper
9. Sanchez
8. Palu
7. Pocock
6. Elsom
5. Sharpe
4. Mumm
3. Alexander
2. TPN
1. Robinson

16. Moore
17. Baxter
18. Douglas
19. Hodgson
20. Burgess
21. Barnes
22. JOC (James O'Connor)

Feelings changed a little since posted in last thread like this. Hynes has been superb at 15. Not shitty mid-field bomb, just runs it hard back but can kick out if need be. Diggers power running was immense on Sunday, so 13 for him and 14 for AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). Baxter has been playing well at prop so deserves to be retained. Higgers only misses out to Hodgson as can't play 7. The rest pretty much pick themselves

If they were to play a game tomorrow id pick this team. Things change though and by the time the tri-nations come around i bet the team would be totally different. Mainly on the fact of star players findin form. But for now my current team is:

15 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14 Mitchell
13 Ioane
12 A. Fainga
11 Hynes
10 Cooper
9 Genia
8 Palu
7 Pocock
6 Elsom [c]
5 Mumm
4 Douglas
3 Alexander
2 TPN
1 Robinson

16 S. Fainga
17 Weeks
18 Chisholm
19 Hodgson
20 Burgess
21 Lealiifano
22 JOC (James O'Connor)

You may notice no gits and no barnes. Well thats cos they have been shit house this super 14. Hope they find form soon. Also have S.Fainga instead of Moore, thats bascially because i thought he did an awesome job against the force and his line-out throwing was superb. A.Fainga for inside centre because the reds backs are killing it so far. Plus better defence then JOC (James O'Connor), lealiifano.

I'm with you Noddy but maybe swap Hynes for Turner.

Some of the bolters have a strong case on current Super 14 form but when it comes to the internationals, such as the 3N, Deans will go for big game experience and not repeat such things as the "throw JOC (James O'Connor) in at 15" experiment.

When I saw the thred title "current Wallaby 15" I was expecting to see what the consensus was for fullback.

If they were to playing the game tomorrow there's no point putting Pocock in there. We don't even know for sure how he'll cope with the new interpretations. G Smith has done admirably but that's no fucking use to us. On the positive side by the time Pocock recovers everyone should've figured out the best way for an openside to play under the new interps. Also on the positive side is that he'll get plenty of opportunities to perfect his tackle technique playing for the 2010 Force.

On another note, does anyone else think TPN should learn to tackle a bit higher? Those knee-capping dives of his are effective, but he seems to get hurt a bit doing it.

4. Sharpe
5. Mumm (pretending that his current form continues, which it probably won't)
6. Elson
7. Waugh (No Smith, no Pocock, who else?)
8. Palu
9. Genia
10. Gits (I can't put Cooper at 10 yet, I just can't.)
11. Hynes
12. Leailifano
13. Iaone
14. Mitchell
15. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)

16. Moore
17. no idea
18. Chilsom (lock or 6
19. Burgess
20. Cooper
21. Faiingaa
22. J'OC

for me 1-9 picks itself with some debate over the locks. After last week Diggers must go to 13 which makes AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 15. Apologies to all Cooper fans, but I still have too many images from last year of missed tackles and bad passes. He has fixed it a lot this year, it will just take me longer to come around to him. 12 is a toss up for me. I think its J'OC's future, but he needs one more year at just that position.

I think that the EOYT and the game against the Reds showed that JOC (James O'Connor) should be no where near a critical defensive position.

JOC (James O'Connor) should be on the bench at best.

On form Giteau does not deserve to be in the 22 at all. Fa'ainga and Lealiifano are ahead of him on form. In fact Lealiifano is probably the Brumbies best back this year so far.
