Hurricanes? Who the fuck are these hurricanes? That's what us Queenslanders call a light breeze. We're gonna smash these pricks. Penalty try from the scrum, minimum 2 canes players in the bin, and the reds winning by at least 20

Love it Torp, like a supporter who is a proper supporter mate!!!
I can see it being not too wide a gap, I suspect with O'Keeffe being the ref and what he's copped this week there is a big risk he and support may go a bit whistle happy so as not to miss anything!

Just curious is there anyone here who, given we are starting Stewart, think Lance should be starting at 10?

Like I would be on board with having Stewart come off the bench at half time or something given it's against the Hurricanes, but he's starting!

Now that the Reds will categorically not make the Finals, persisting with a journeyman player at 10 who's departing the Reds in a couple of months is simply absurd/poor coaching judgement by almost any criteria.

How on earth will Stewart develop like this as the 2019 10? And when there's no other credible candidate for that role. And where on first looks, Stewart is not a 15.

Pulling a player as talented as Perese in and out of the squad, how does that make sense with 2019 in mind?

I especially focus upon 2019 planning now as surely the QRU cannot financially or otherwise afford yet another year in 2019 like the 2014-18 block have been and with current (real numbers) home crowds around 7-8,000?

Who says they won't pull the switcheroo again?

Dillyboy right now.

@Reg, if that's the logic why start Stewart at all, surely if you were trying to protect him you'd bring him off the bench?

I am not suggesting there is any logic in this.

My theory is he will end up at 10 anyway, this way he gets match time (which he is obliged to get given he was denied an opportunity to go to U20s) but ends up in his favoured 10 jersey for rest of season which includes an 'easier' run including home game v Highlanders and Waratahs before the break and then Auckland away and Rebels & Sunwolves at home after the break.

Isn't it so next year they can use the excuse that his inexperienced at 10 only having 1 start at 10....

That would not surprise me one iota; emitting lame and factually highly debatable excuses for crap outcomes has become a very bad Ballymore habit. They need to concoct better ones as most of their chosen emissions are simply pathetic.

Whatever and remarkably, on cue the Foxtel commentators lap them up like puppies. Clark calling the Sunwolves match rolled out the 'this very young Reds team' as some kind of forgivable explanation/justification, numerous times.
