He had signed for Saracens before getting an ankle injury. Saracens wanted him to have the surgery right away so that he would be right for the start of the season, but he wanted to wait and try and get into the RWC squad, which didn't happen of course. Saracens then withdrew their deal and as far as I know, hasn't signed with anyone. There were whispers of going to the Rebels but I didn't hear anything after that.

Don't wanna be too harsh on the bloke but I can't see why anyone up north would want him.. I'm sure they have much better hookers, he plays way too loose for their liking.

We Toulouse must sign a hooker very quickly because of the injury of Gary Botha (who is out for around four months). Only William Servat is available now at hooker (and some inexperienced youngsters of course). I think Huia Edmonds, if fit, could be a good choice given the state of the market right now, when very few players are still unattached.

Edmonds is a very athletic front rower.

He doesn't get as involved in the tight, but his set piece is solid enough.

He played very well in the midweek games on last years EOYT to get selected over Fainga'a against England, but unfortunately injuries crippled his chance for more tests.

He would be an excellent acquisition for any team.

No, but I've watch him play at higher levels...

When did he play in the Shute Shield? I'm assuming it could only have been after he got injured?

You obviously haven't seen him throw lineouts.............

And the chip kicks for himself down the wing...................

His lineout throwing is probably no worse than TPN or Fainga'a.

It's generally reliable, but can be pressured.

No doubting he likes to seagull though.

Isn't he just a rotund center playing hooker out of necessity? Almost like a less good Schalk Brits.

He literally could play any position on the park except maybe second row. Could play prop should the size of the other team warrant it. Funnily enough he actually has a pretty good kicking game.

George Smith was the same he was a centre in a previous life.

... also a hooker, but switched to flanker at age 16 because he had trouble throwing the ball into the lineout with two hands.

The rest as they say ......
