Bugger! Not gonna blame the ref but HTF was that a double movement? And HTF was that not a penalty try?

Standings after Round 8:

1. Fiji 147
2. South Africa 142
3. New Zealand 139
4. England 117
5. Australia 101
6. USA 86

Australia's chances of overhauling England are now pretty much hypothetical so looks like you'll need to win the Oceania tournament to make it to Rio. The way Samoa & Tonga are travelling (& their player-availability issues viz the Euro clubs) that shouldn't be too difficult.

Can't see NZ winning the title this year.

Interesting performance from Rasta all round. Not sure that Curry should have been awarded the YC, but then Curry's try was a bit dodgy - perhaps an attempt to square the ledger a little for the earlier non-tries.

Cracking game of sevens fitting for a final.

Pity about the weather. It's been a long time since I've seen so many kicks in a Rugby Sevens tournament.

WTF do players still wear moulded sole boots and blades when it is raining? Get the old fashioned boots with the 21mm screw in studs in.

Australia are just looking off the pace this year, and I reckon the big 4 (SAF, NZL, FIJ, ENG) /top tier (+FRA, ARG, USA, CAN, SAM, KEN) no longer fear them.

Congratulations to the Fijian Wizards for their outstanding performance over the weekend.
