Pool A:

Fiji
Canada
Argentina
Samoa

Pool B:
New Zealand
Australia
Wales
Japan

Pool C:
England
Scotland
Kenya
Brazil

Pool D:
USA
South Africa
France
Portugal

Standings after Glasgow:
1. Fiji 147
2. South Africa 142
3. New Zealand 139
4. England 117
5. Australia 101
6. USA 86
7. Scotland 79
8. Argentina 73
9. Samoa 59
10. France 59

Fiji, SA & NZ definitely qualified for Rio, England would pretty much have to finish in the bottom half of the Shield & Australia make the Cup Final to miss out on qualification. Ergo Australia will need to win the Oceania qualifying tournament in November.

Hard to see NZ overhauling Fiji but it's (just) possible they might pip SA for 2nd.

First game is 6 PM AEST on Saturday, NZ v Australia at 4 AM Sunday.

Women's tournament kicks off 9 PM Friday AEST:

Pool A
New Zealand
France
Brazil
Spain

Pool B
Canada
England
Russia
South Africa

Pool C
Australia
USA
Fiji
China

Current standings:
1. New Zealand 80
2. Canada 58
3. Australia 56
4. France 52
5. USA 48
6. England 48
7. Russia 46

Two Rounds left, anyone currently 2nd - 7th in with a shout of qualifying for Rio (FTR Fiji are 8th on 24) & only NZ guaranteed a place. Australia's last two results a bit disappointing after a strong start in Rounds 1 & 2.

Paris confirmed as the 10th venue from 2016:

http://www.worldrugby.org/sevens-series/news/71034

Full calendar would therefore be:

Dubai
Cape Town
Sydney
Wellington
Las Vegas
Vancouver
Hong Kong
Tokyo
Paris
London

Now we just have to wait & see if they can get rid of the annoying randomness of the scheduling & have just 2 or 3 weeks between each pair of tournaments vs the up to 7 currently.

Saw the ladies v USA early this morning, were lucky to draw with them! They are just missing the final piece of jigsaw to really gel together as a team.

It doesn't seem possible but Declan O'Donnell's hair looks redder than last time he played, rustier than a Taiwanese squid-fishing boat..........

Worst performance this year. Absolutely shocking. Bloody hell. If they play like that against Kenya, then they've simply been playing for contracts all year, and that's despicable. Even if that's not the case, you can't just turn up and expect to win against anyone, that's the nature of the sevens game.

AUS v WAL in the Mens Competition on now.

Try Nick Malouf to boos from crowd at Twickers. Classy. Converted. AUS 7 WAL 0. 5 minutes to go to oranges.

Try Wales in a 14 point turnaround after AUS butcher 2 penalties from 5 metres out down at the other end of the pitch. WAL 7 AUS 7 with 1 minute to oranges.

Try awarded to Ed Jenkins. Unconverted. Time up in the first half.

AUS 12 WAL 7 at oranges.

More boos from Twickers as Clarkies Boy gets meat and chopsticks. AUS 19 WAL 7 with 2:30 to go.

WAL reply with more meat of their own. Converted AUS 19 WAL 14 with one minute to go.

Siren goes. Sir blows no game. AUS 19 WAL 14.

NZL vs AUS mens.
Winner to probably play the Single Malts in the Cup SF. Loser to probably play the Soap Dodgers (ENG v SCO up soon).

Game on.

Try NZL - Curry. Conversion is no good. NZL 5 AUS 0 with 3 min left in the half.
Try AUS - Pama Fou. Conversion misses. scores tied up at 5 apiece with 60 sec to oranges.
Try NZL - Ioane, After the bell rings for oranges. not converted.

Oranges = NZL 10 AUS 5

Try AUS - Pama Fou. Conversion misses. scores tied up at 10 apiece with 5 min left.
Try NZL - Curry. Conversion is good. NZL 17 AUS 10 with 3 min left.
Try NZL - Stowers. Conversion is good. NZL 24 AUS 10 with time up. That is the ball game folks.

NZL tops the Pool. AUS Runner up.
