Not to someone living in Manly they probably have never been to Fairfield.

Look I like Canberra, it is a nice place.

But it ain't the northern beaches of Sydney which is one of the most beautiful parts of Aus, and for someone used to being able to go to the beach easily and grew up in that lifestyle it is just not comparable.

putting all the Canberra v Sydney arguments in the bin..........where they belong.

The kid is from Manly originally, was in the same juniors team that had Tom Kingston, Peter Gilmore, Greg Peterson etc. So you could say he's not only returning home to his family but his mates as well.

I for one think it's a fantastic signing. This kid was always going to be a superstar. He has already made sacrifices to pursue his dream of a Wallaby jersey. Good luck to him.

It's awesome for the Tahs too. It will allow them to play a wide game knowing they have a 7 who can go from sideline to sideline and secure possession. Watch for some changes to who they keep/recruit into the inside backs as a result. With Turner and Mitchell coming back for next year the back 3 will have some serious depth and they'll look to get it wide to them as much as possible.

Northern beaches are OK if your got a local parking permit on your car otherwise beach parking is very expensive, council rangers are always bombing visitors on the insular peninsular… not a place which welcomes outsiders…

Manly has some great restaurants and bars. But above that there isn’t much before the Pittwater Arms Hotel... Perhaps 1 restaurant or 2 at Palm Beachbut that’s it…

But without a doubt the Best beaches in Sydney… full of cashed up tradies on surf boards… Not many book shops :)

You have to remember in this Sydney Vs Canberra thing that Canberrans on average are:
= Smarter
= Fitter
= Healthier
= Better Educated
= Have more cafe's and restaurants per capita to choose from

...Therfore you Sydney-Siders should bow to the wisdom of your southern masters.

Manly has nicer views, but I wouldn't step into any of those bars and aside from the Argentinian tapas place the restaurants are kak....

Now that porn is so available on the Internet and there are more restrictions on fireworks, is there. Point fir Canberra to exist or would the brumbies be better served moving to Wollongong or Newcastle and having actual fans and players to draw from?

Clearly Canberrans are more level headed than Sydneysiders.

They have chips on both shoulders.

I'm not going to lie, the level of smug in Sydney is always very high.

That said, I'm planning to make my first trip to Canberra Stadium in a few weeks for the Brumbies vs Tahs clash. Hopefully I can convince some mates to come with me...

Choices are to put a few $$$s in the meter or park 500m in the streets behind the beach. Building car parks for non-residents isn't high on the council's agenda.

The Northern Beaches are covered in quality restaurants. Hot spots are Manly, Dee Why, Avalon, Whale Beach and Palm Beach.

One of my favourites is Ribs and Rumps in Manly (which is also highly regarded and frequently visited by travelling South African rugby teams).
