Luke Braid can't frikkin buy a penalty at the moment...more than once he's had rights to te ball...

It's a disgrace, there's no fucking consistency across any of the referees. I know players have to adapt but it's just shit for them when two referees see things completely different.

Holy friggen crap. That is embarrassing defending, Embarrassing!

Complain about the ref (which is fair) but the Blues are playing awful..

That's just bullshit.....they've had some great defence that should have been rewarded with turn-overs. They've also defended for lengthy periods with only 14 men.

Ref seemed happy to let Hardie have rights to the ball.

Try at the end there for the Blues, nice individual try, Blues needed that big time.

Haha Highlanders steal it straight away. You're a disgrace White

Um yeah. He was quick enough to make the turnover before the opposition arrived. The Blues haven't been. The ref doesn't need to get involved with the former. If the opposition does arrive (as has happened every time Braid has been going for the ball) it's going to be hard to get the turnover or the penalty.

How is he a disgrace in that situation? What would you have called?

Hardie was fine, I have no problems with that call. Braid has had his hands all over the ball before the ruck and the Highlanders were never releasing the ball. White didn't want any of it. There's no fucking consistency.

Nay.. may I say Bullshit to your Bullshit. They've lost in the contact area, have made lots of tackles but have had times where they haven't evened attempted a tackle let alone the numerous times they haven't finished a tackle. Gear practically walked through for his try.

The Blues have thrown the ball to the ground about 3 times, knocked on, overthrown a line out. That's just shit play.

As for the ref, White is letting the Highlanders get away with everything at the ruck but we've had that against us ALL season (Chiefs v Highlanders, looking at you). So no sympathy from me.

Why do you (Qwerty) have to turn every thread into an endless list of borderline defamatory comments about match officials? Can't we have one game, even if it's just the NZ or SA derbies where we just admire the skills on display? That's why I'm watching. Why are you guys here?

I mean, I wish I could ignore it but when over 50% of the comments are dehumanizing Jonathan White there's not much point talking about the attacking structure of the highlanders is there?

Because refereeing incompetence shits me to death, it ruins games. But yes this game has been decent to watch, I'll take nothing away from the Highlanders skilful ball movement.

You don't appear to have a great idea of what refereeing competence involves. I mean, I saw you calling JW something along the lines of an idiot for awarding a 5m scrum to the attacking team when a maul went into in-goal. If you don't know the laws or aren't even going to check them before you comment, then all you are doing is contributing to the long list of silly/ignorant comments on GAGGR. But for the record, refereeing competence is much more about positioning and communication than it is about actual decisions made - that comes as a result of good positioning and applying law knowledge/preventative communication where appropriate. For reference: http://www.irblaws.com/index.php?law=17

So yea, it would be nicer if the threads actually reflected the games. If we can't even do that now, it's only going downhill for the rest of the night.

Anyway, my prediction is Ben Smith will come more into the line this half and end up with 3!

Obstructions like that are a bit meh.. Slade knew what he was doing pretending he was out of play.
