If you're thinking of me: I didn't say what you said. I said if we had him in that game of Murrayfield we would have won the game; not because of the one goal kick that Giteau missed at the end, but because he knew how to manage a game in those conditions and our guys didn't.
So it was probably somebody else that you asked the question about . But if you are going to make a remark like that it's always fairer to that other person that you quote them. But I suppose that if you found the quote you wouldn't need to ask the question you did.

Munster are still cursed - most recently by Saints fans. Their team has given them a bit of joy this year in the way they have played the game but, even without POC, the Munster lads were too good.
ROG hasn't had a great season by his past standards and his goal kicking was shotgun stuff in the game, but his kicking from hand was superb and turned Northampton around time and time again. Oz doesn't have flyhalves like him and most often don't want any, but when we need them to manage a bleak game, they aren't there.
Scrummie TOL, the man of the match, has made a big difference to Munster in the last few seasons. He has given them a dimension they didn't have with Stringer starting. Opponents knew that Stringer was nearly always going to whip the ball out wide quickly and not snipe with it - except in the odd Heineken Cup final. They configured their defence accordingly but TOL's speed off the mark from the base of the scrum or ruck, makes them pause.
Quinny gave a few penalties away and just when you think the old fellow should hang up his boots, he does a few things that smack the gob. What a player - and what value referees must place on him as an unpaid assistant. He sees things they don't; which is probably not surprising as they didn't happen.
On that performance you would have to back Munster beating Biarritz regardless of where the game is played, though their semi-final last year should make one pause. Biarritz have played a lot of crap rugby this season, at least in the games I have seen, and were lucky to beat the Sprays, as we all know. I certainly fancy Munster progressing to he final in Paris more than I do Leinster beating Toulouse in the other semi; though who knows: I've seen Skrela choke like Brock James too and the Dublin lads could get lucky again.
I doubt it though. The Men In Black were dominant after oranges against SF, and often gorgeously so. Some of the ball playing was reminiscent of the Wallaby backs in their pomp; too long ago now.
In the Super14 we have good ball runners but the service too them is often execrable. There is not one team that can pass the ball at top speed as Toulouse did, and do on a regular basis, though an honourable mention can be given to the Reds.
Nor does any Super team have an inside centre like Jauzion, one of my favourite players in the game. His ability to go into contact on his feet, yet deliver the ball to advantage still standing, created a few breaks for Toulouse in the Quarter Final and nearly always does in other games too. Kelleher was marvellous again. He started the season quietly for him but he is at his snarly, aggressive best now at the money part of the season.
So; two French teams against the two Ireland giants in the semis is about how it should be. The standard of the GP has been below par this year IMO and whilst the Saints have played some exciting un-English rugby and may have deserved a Pom semi place for rugby merit in the hearts of neutral rugby tragics, they didn't get one.
As a Munster fan first and, sorry T78, a Leinster fan second, in my supporters pecking order of European clubs, I am hoping for an all-Ireland final, but Toulouse look awesome.
PS - Can somebody please change the name of this thread to - Heineken Cup Final Series - or some such?

Brock is a classy player and would be a terrific addition to a Wallaby world cup squad. I don't think he'd make Australia's 22 but he wouldn't be far off.

I've said quite often that we need a player like him in any Wallaby squad in case there is bad weather in a certain test match. I've said the same about Gerard for such games as fullback too.
But James lost a lot of credibility in Dublin. He had the highest percentage kicking stats in the Top14 last season and was well up there this year too.
Nevertheless his choking, and that's what you have to call it, did not surprise me. He missed 4 penalty kicks in the HC pool game against the Sprays earlier in the season.
Unfortunately Brock will always be remembered for that poor game.

Regarding Toulouse v. Stade Français, it was a very close game during the first half, the first 30 minutes were very good for Paris and they deserved to lead at HT but a late try by Jauzion was a kind of miracle for Toulouse. In the second half, there was only one team on the field, Stade Français players looked very tired when our bench made the difference (Human, Johnston, Maestri, Sowerby, Médard). Albacete and Heymans scored two superb tries, typically "made in Toulouse".

It was my first chance to have a good look at Mark Gasiner playing rugby, and I personally think he is not worth the top up from the AFRU should the Melbourne Rebels sign him up...he'd do ok for Rebels but not the Wallabies! He was too tentative in defence with several missed tackles and also lacks the rugby nous in positioning himself in both defence and attack, IMHO.
Admittedly, he may have been playing out of position in IC instead of out in the wing where I seem to be reading about him playing there previously.
