South Africa wing Bryan Habana has been cited for kicking France's Vincent Clerc in the face during Friday's international in Toulouse.

The case will be heard by the International Rugby Board's disciplinary committee on Wednesday.

Television images appear to show Habana kicking out at Clerc when the French winger was lying on the ground in the 38th minute. Video Here.

If found guilt Habana risks being suspended for the Springbok's next test against Italy on Saturday in Udinese.

The South Africans, who lost 20-13 to France, then have a date in Dublin against Ireland on November 28 to wrap up their European tour.

When he did it in the game it was just a what the fuck moment. Then he tried to look all apologetic like it was an accident, but I fail to see how it could've been as he wasn't taking a step forward. Just what was he thinking?

PS No sign of a citing for Kearney. Predictable.

if he misses a game i'd call it a bit soft. it was a stupid thing to do, but honestly what was the harm? maybe a nudge to the ribs (hard to see point of impact) but let's harden up a bit ok? and the frenchie did help it along.

Watch Habana closely in future. He does not at all mind slipping in the sly elbow, boot and knee. Some might say he is a dirty fekker.

I can't see too much in it but it was to the head of the poor defenceless frencman. If he is guilty - beyond very reasonable doubt - then one week is piss poor - if the frenchie is found to have had even a modicum of guilt in the incident out him for a year. Typical french dirty tricks.
But gees, if it comes off not too shabby a deceit.

the frenchie was probably trying to bite Habana's boot :lmao:

Bullshit - nothing in it.

Frenchie holding his leg, BH looking in the face of guy standing up, tries to free his leg from grip, didn't know there was a face there.

And how much of an idiot is Botha?

The thing is there is usually "not much in it", but with the Boks it is continual crap.

It is the elbow after the whistle, a tackle finished after the whistle, an eye gouge or bite etc etc

Kaplan opined "nothing in it" when Ferris up-ended Palu after the whistle for a knock-on :angryfire:

Just the usual citing crap. ::) Thought the Haan running into Bismarck look like a mossie being shot by a kettie, stone dead circus.

Fark Botha is an aggro bastard. Was funny when he shoved Harinodiquoy who smashed into Brussouw sending him flying. Then Harinordiquoy gets penalised and warned for it.

Give him a warning and if he does another soft thing like that then give him a week. Good on Wayne Barnes for missing that. If that happened on the weekend Kaplan would march us 10 metres and give whoever did it a red card. Arrogant tool.

Balls, he didn't. If there's a guy holding onto your calf, you know it. And if there's a guy just below your waist, you know it. And particularly if you're a professional sportsman who works on peripheral vision, you know it.

Even then, what need was there to jerk the knee up to free the leg? None. He was more than happy to plant the knee there.

Habana knew what he was doing. As Biffo has pointed out, he's become a right niggly little fuckwit; and as Fatprop pointed out, there's a fair bit of this going on. He knew what he was doing, meant to do it and didn't even have the guts to follow through on it.

Two weeks, just for being a cnut.

OK you want two weeks and hopefull just for being a cnut one week to play Ireland in the final match. ::)

Actually, it'd probably help us if he did; marked man coming back will either lose it or be quiet and off the boil.

But he deserves a ban on the simple basis that if you did it in a normal match, you'd get walked for being a twat. There's no place for that on the pitch.

I reckon a suspended 1 week sentence would be a fair outcome. It was silly but I don't buy the argument that HAbana is a closest dirty player.

Aha Habana is one for the big ones, marked or unmarked.

Anyway from a Stormers perspective if they chuck him out , so be it come to Slaapstad, finish your honeymoon and get ready for 2010 S14.
