Barne's his running out of the defensive line to try to close down wide play was a problem because they didn't work. But it was the right thing to be trying to do, we had to turn them back in, but we weren't good enough to do it.

I though Barnes did at least as well as Giteau. He neutralised Nonu as a threat for nearly the whole match.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Pocock, Genia.

From the Kiwi point of view: Dick Brown, Drew Mitchell, Rocky Elsom were liabilities that helped NZ.

Hugh Jarse, my first instinct mirrors yours exactly. Bam was a hero out there in a team of fail, possibly even better than McCaw was too. so,
3 Pocock
2 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
1 Rock
With semi-hounourable mention to Mumm, who backed up well from last week IMO.

As an aside, I really think we gave away home-ground advantage by having it in Melbourne. I wasn't there but it seemed as if there were at least as many AB as Wob supporters. I think one of the reasons we'll never have that 'cauldron' type atmosphere that SA and NZ get is because there are too many of the buggers over here for it to happen. Anyone who was there care to comment?

3 Pocock

But considering we have to have 3 different players:

3 Pocock
2 Genia
1 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)

C'mon, I know it's hard.

I'll start:

3 - Pocock
2 - AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
1 - Gits

3. Pocock - Work Horse, never gave up - reckon McCaw was more invovled though.
2. Elsom - Ran hard all night, dodgy as captain but in terms of work rate & heart, he was good.
1. Mitchell - His 30mins were probably better than anyone elses.

Firstly: Richie was way more effective than Pocock purely because he's a seasoned campainer who chooses his involvement to perfection.

As for Melb having too many AB supporters........far more in Syd & triple that in Brisbane. They're all home games for AB's in Australia lol. But even in Hong Kong & Japan(neutral ground) Aussies can't win.

Stop making excuses & get to the source.........sack Deans!!!!!it's time to stop moving forward & f*ucken do something!!!!

Sorry Zinzan, I really did mean it as an aside. I'm not trying to make excuses for last night's effort by any stretch, it was more something to distract from the disappointment and, shit, i dunno, just disappointment of how crap the wobs were last night.

This rates up there with our QF loss to the poms last RWC (when I was in England) as the most depressing loss I've experienced...

At the breakdown there is no doubt that Pocock outplayed McDiver.
