Apparently just reported on One News in NZ.

Great news if true.

God knows the Blues need some help!

Let's hope those pesky match fixers don't turn their attention to Blues games now.

Just can't get my head around sir Henry not being in charge. Will his ego allow it?

I don't think he has a particularly big ego. This is not John Mitchell.
Actually he was the technical adviser to the Blues in 2003 - when they won the title as it happens

interesting.
Is Henry a technician: I.e. is/was he deeply involved in technique or was hevmore a manager for the ABs?

I'm reading his book at the moment and I'm up to the 2003 part of it. From the book, it doesn't come across that he liked only being an assistant. Possibly because of his long stretch at Wales and head of the Lions then going into a position to be subordinate to a guy he coached in Foxy.

However now he probably is in a more comfortable place after pretty much acheiving everything and he might be willing to help out his beloved Auckland team

The new bloke (has it been announced who it is?) could take it one of two ways. Either he is put out by it and is resentful, or he could use it as an opportunity to learn from a coach that has a brilliant win/loss ratio and pick his brain to not only enhance his teams performance, but his own development as a coach

I'm sure Auckland fans hope its the latter... as a Tahs fan though...

I will be interested to hear your opinion of the book after you have finished it Nelse

If the Blues do well (and it's an if) the new coach (Kirwin right?) will have article after article written about how Henry masterminded the whole thing. Mark my words, these headlines will happen.

.....while if they do poorly it will be, "Kirwan not up to coaching at this level....he's lost the dressing room" etc. So bit of a lose/lose situation for him in that respect.

Great opportunity for him to tap into Henry's knowledge and experience though.

Hasn't Ted been less than flattering about Kirwin and depression?
Could be a very interesting combination!

This is completely untrue. Henry himself admits to suffering from depression. In an interview where he's talking about it, he refers to it as something along the lines of, 'John Kirwan would call it depression'.

I think IS took it as Henry demeaning Kirwan and depression....even though Henry is actually talking about he suffered from it. To me, Henry was referring more to the fact that the issue of depression, especially for men, was very publicly raised and highlighted by Kirwan in a series of TV adverts.
