Nup, don't agree. Watch it in realtime

Off the ball stupid shit that no other team in world rugby does - yes, definately.

Trying to rip his arm off - hardly.

Chicken Wing thing - whatever, only gets in that position because he got up.

To be fair, I'm probably not looking at this as balanced as I usually do (!) as I'm too fucked off over the whole Britsh press influencing Brett Gosper thing - it's put me in a NZ rugby Vs the world frame of mine. I hate those arseholes so passionately.

I guess its just my opinion, but I think that inconsistency, right across the board in judicial citing and hearings, is one of THE major issues confronting international rugby. The lack of a fair, open process that has clear guidelines on severity of sentence and when players should be cited has resulted in the judicial system becoming an absolute lottery. What's the right sentence range for a tip tackle? Why, anything from nothing at all, not even a hearing through to 22 weeks.

That inconsistency will encourage dirty play because players know that there is a chance they won't even be cited for a major incident. I'm no Gosper fan, but he's right on the money.

What's unfair? Has there been complaints about a lack of a fair hearing? I don't think it's a lottery at all, in fact the system is based on the merits of each individual case. It's an arbitrary process involving humans.

And in terms of encouraging dirty play, is that the vibe or is there research to support that? Are u saying there's premeditation?

That Ellison incident looks ugly for mine. What was he trying to do there? It looked to me like he was trying to injure the bloke. It certainly wasn't a tackle or clean out. I can see why the other Scottish player reacted like he did, I would have done the same.

How do you know twitter influenced that at all? I saw the tweet in real time and all he confirmed was that they were reviewing it. I took it to mean that they'd already decided to review it - he was just confirming that

I noticed the frothy article above didn't even quote the tweet

Shall I quote something he retweeted then?

"UK banshee rugby press clearly getting to @brettgosper and the other gin-soaked hooray henrys of the IRB"

It is what it is

Gosper's tweet wasn't a clever thing to do.
All it does is place pressure on him to consistently tweet about everything as relatively important to the game, as this incident.
On that scale he'll have RSI of his thumbs, because that's all he'll have time for.
He can't win here.
If he tweets something he'll be accused of favouring or victimising somebody or a team.
If he doesn't tweet he'll be accused of ignoring or belittling the issue at hand.

Dude, you are the current RWC champions, have every trophy on the IRB planet, have most of your team in the World XV and are ranked #1 with a bullet.

And you are worried what the Fleet St press writes? Holy preciousness, Batman!

Hate to break this to you MR, but it fucking is NZ v the World!

I can see why you're upset now - he's shown a sense of humour!

It's back to my original point - this all boils down to whether you think public figures should communicate directly with us unwashed or not.

All Gosper did is confirm a review was happening. A precious kiwi hack didn't like there was a review (of something even he couldn't defend) and so he decided he'd concoct some story to get at Gosper on twitter. A beat up.

^^^^almost circles into the 88 odd page thread on "Quade telling it like it is" in response to tweets.

Any digital conversation now days, tweeter/facebook/email/sms is and will be used in the public domain. These are not private nor plausiably deniable once they hit the twittersphere/outlook/gaggerland post.

Ahhhh oh for the good old days. Life was so much easier then.

I often think how f&*ked the current Captains of Industry would be if facebook, skype, sms, picture text, and emails were around in the 80's. Life was simple.

Good point. But to be clear I don't care what they write... I care that these one eyed anti-AB morons seem to be chummy with the head of the IRB.

The only thing worse would be if GAGR folks seemed to be equally as chummy, I would be a wreck!!

Sorry for the sense of humor failure earlier on... I just really hate British hacks.

Actually Daz, can we use your quote when we replying on GAGR posts, as you say it is NZ v the world, and certainly can be used to verify what MR said about the Ellison thing used in this post ie; Ellison is a vindictive bastard because he is in Black it!!:p

Actually got to say I just clicked on that link to Cosper's twitter, and now feel dirty, that is honestly first time I have ever read a twitter posting, and I don't feel my life is better for it.

Major, once again you are the first person to bring nationality into it. You are the one (as well as the precious Kiwi press) who turned this into an All Black thing. No-one else gives a fuck which country these players are from.

Even Richard Loe is talking sense, and he would know a bit about judiciary (as he admits in the article).

All right, Thomson stuffed up. He got yellow-carded. The linesman did his job, the referee did his job and Thomson turned up and ate some humble pie. All parts of the system worked smoothly - except one.

There are distinct guidelines for this kind of process. We all heard about it - from two weeks to eight weeks out of the game, depending on the severity of the offence. Thomson's "crime" was clearly at the lower end of the scale. So give him a two-week penalty. Why on earth drag up this "good behaviour" lark?

Not like Loey to be so sensible is it HJ?? Actually I know he is really, just never gave that impression while on field.

You have read the thread title haven't you???

I was going to say that Mutton, and point out who brought up the Ellison thing, realised it was replying to Scarf and didn't bother.

Thanks for the love, boys. It's so mutual it would make your eyes sting.

My point is that it was the Kiwi journos who made it a conspiracy. No-one else in thread mentioned nationality. Until MR.

You make your point Scarfman, thank you for doing so.

I actually thought this thread had tangented off down a decent avenue worthy of discussion. Obviously not. Apologies, I'll try and keep things on track going forwards.
