I will probably be deemed biased, but I think this is a more reasonable team, the Reds defended well and worked hard, but in some positions there were better individual performances in other games

1. Kepu - played both sides and was dynamic around the field
2. TPN
3. Slipper
4. Sharpe
5. Horwill
6. Kimlin - best game from the guy, dynamic and busy
7. Robinson
8. Vaea - best young 8 about
9. Burgess - set up three tries
10. Cooper
11. Mitchell
12. Harris
13. A. Finger - just ahead of Cross who was pretty good
14. Speight - best game I have seen from the guy
15. Morahan -

16. Hanson
17. Robinson
18. Simmons
19. Higginbottom
20. Genia
21. Beale
22. Giteau

There's a clash of theories here.

(1) What Wallaby team would you pick if they had to play this week?
(2) What was the SupeRugby form 22 this week?

Gnostic is doing (1), fp is doing (2) and the rest of you sound half-way.

Sort yourselves out, people.

I think it's easy to pick a form 1-15, but when you're choosing the bench it's hard to rely solely on form. Questions like experience, versatility, combinations are hard to avoid.

There might even be three options here:

1) Picking a Wallaby team to play this week?
2) Picking a form Wallaby team to play this week?
3) Picking a form Super Rugby team?

I still see a difference between 2 and 3.

That team good enough to win with only 14 men to start?

I just watched the Tahs game again and I think Burgess is the clear winner. I'm going to go as far as saying I've never seen a half-back have a better game. He was involved in 3 of the 4 tries. Not just involved but set-up them up. The first one to set-up Carter was outstanding, used his pace and strength to brush of his opposite in Sheehan and then the timing of the pass - wow! Just held it up superbly to put Tommy through. Sorry I know Genia's got game but I've never seen him do something like that.

Honestly, with the Wallabies Burgess' running game with our backs, specifically Quade, Kurtley and Drew is superior to what Genia can offer imo. I remember he set-up Quade twice in the June internationals last year with those typical runs.

You are seriously delusional.

Since we're clarifying some of the above, IMO Jack Lam (Hurricanes) of late would have to of rated pretty highly in the form/Wallaby eligible Super weekly XV, or is this only for players from Aus franchises?

Wow, I completely forgot Jack Lam is an aussie. Is he opting to try and break into the AB's playing over there?

was that against a 3rd string fiji side?

anyway, sure burgess is excellent around the rucks and has a nice short pass, but if you ask him to pass long, it's a mess. (yes, i know it has improved...)

i remember another player who was in the same boat... brett johnstone from the reds in the 90's (?) was a potential wallaby halfback and played a few tests from memory. he was a freak with ball in hand but once he needed to send it out the line, things got a little shakey. he had a very good career as an impact halfback but never quite made it all the way.

i see burgess in the same boat. bring him off the bench late when the game is scrappy and he'll be great but he just hasn't got the pass to be an international starting halfback.

Genia's passing and kicking game gives him a big edge over Burgess. Simple as that seeing as they are fundimentals for a halfback.

Ah no, England as a matter of fact.

oh yes, thanks for the correction. i must have been trying to block out those disasters.

looking at the one game we did win against the pom's...

lead up to the first try - burgess fires a pass high to cooper.
last pass for the second try - burgess makes a fantastic break and then slips a neat short pass to cooper.
lead up to the last try - a very wobbly pass from burgess at the scrum base to cooper.

If we are picking the form Wallaby side based on the Super Rugby then Genia must be there on the strength of his game on the weekend and JOC (James O'Connor) must be in there somewhere, probably at 12.
