After a two week hiatus for work commitments I'm back - Usual rules - can only be selected where they played.

1. Daley (Qld)
2. Hanson (Qld)
3. Slipper (Qld)
4. Simmons (Qld)
5. Horwill (Qld)
6. Mowen (NSW)
7. Robinson (Qld)
8. Higginbum (Qld)
9. Genia (Qld)
10. Cooper (Qld)
12. Harris (Qld)
13. A. Finger (Qld)
11. Mitchell (NSW)
14. Ioane (Qld)
15. Morahan (Qld)

16. TPN (NSW)
17. Kepu (NSW)
18. Douglas (NSW)
19. Dennis (NSW)
20. Burgess (NSW)
21. Beale (NSW)
22. Davies (Qld)

Shit that was easy. No surprise really that no Farce or Mule players make the cut, in fact Rebels players were closer to making the cut IMO.

shit, i almost feel sick saying it ;) , but after watching the Force v Waratahs game i think more NSW players deserve to be in the team, whilst the Force didnt represent a 'quality' opposition, NSW did play pretty dam good.

There are a few who played very well for the Tahs, but I don't think any played well enough to deny the Reds which played as a very solid unit. I only selected Mowen at 6 as I feel his Superior lineout skills could enhance what is a problem area in that side.

Cummins was at 13. Sidey was on the wing for the Force. I wouldn't have picked Ioane, and would probably have gone Speight also.

Would probably pick Burgess as well. Gits should maybe be at 12, that tri-half system is a mess for picking them in positions unfortunately.

All of the opensides had pretty reasonable games and probably any couldve been considered.

Vaea had another decent game as well I thought.

Oh dear. Looks like someone needs a reminder of 30-6. Reds fans getting way too ahead of themselves.

16. TPN (NSW)
17. Kepu (NSW)
18. Douglas (NSW)
19. Dennis (NSW)
20. Burgess (NSW)
21. Beale (NSW)
22. Davies (Qld)

just a suggestion, but it could be interesting for the players 16 - 22 to actually be bench players who came onto the field and made an impact, as opposed to the next best player in that position.

but then again, it's your list and you can do whatever you want. i guess if you are picking a wallaby 22, my suggestion makes no bloody sense at all.

3-23 wasn't it..? Sorry, that was against the 14th ranked Cheetahs.

Ease up champ, like I said, Burgess had a good game, however lets have a closer look at the opposition quality before week 8 shall we? Plenty of other reasons but I really couldn't be bothered going into detail. The table below gives all the information needed.

P W L D
Stormers 6 6 0 0
Force 6 1 4 1

Luke Burgess ahead of Genia

My understanding is that this list is not a Super Form team, but a form team you'd pick to play for the Wallabies. Genia's game was much more test match like, and therefore it is hard to argue against picking him if the wallabies were going into a big test tomorrow.

This is what I think and I am a Tah's fan.
Simmons had a blinder and so did Hanson but the only weakness of the Reds seemed to be the Line-out so I have benched them. JOC (James O'Connor) missed some tackles at the back but still looked like the most dangerous player over the weekend so he is in at 15. I am surprised Samo hasn't got much of a mention, he was phenomenal.
Jenkins gets a bench spot after making 30 tackles and missing none. Ben Robbo instead of Kepu on the bench for a strong scrummaging performance. TPN because he is the king.

1. Daley (Qld)
2. TPN (NSW)
3. Slipper (Qld)
4. Sharpe (WFR)
5. Horwill (Qld)
6. Samo (Qld)
7. Robinson (Qld)
8. Higginbum (Qld)
9. Genia (Qld)
10. Cooper (Qld)
11. Mitchell (NSW)
12. Harris (Qld)
13. A. Finger (Qld)
14. Ioane (Qld)
15. O'Connor (WFR)

16. Hanson (Qld)
17. Robinson (NSW)
18. Simmons (Qld)
19. Mowen (NSW)
20. Burgess (NSW)
21. Beale (NSW)
22. Jenkins (WFR)

Not that I'd necessarily pick this bench, but as for impact...
TPN is the ultimate impact player, Kepu has played well on both sides so seems a very good bench prop who plays pretty well around the field, Dennis had a blinder coming off the bench, Burgess was lauded last year often in Tests for the impact he had later in the game with his sniping runs etc, Beale can play several backline positions, and creates a lot of opportunity, and would be dynamic running against tiring opposition. Davies has jet shoes apparently. ;) Douglas seems the odd one out. Criticise the bench by all means, but saying it lacks impact seems a bit far-fetched.

It is simply my opinion that Burgess had a better game, in fact I thought he was the best player I watched on the weekend. Although I do see where your coming from Scotty, I am happy with three try assists at Super or Test level. Burgess is very hot and cold, which makes him a liability at Test level, but on form alone he was on fire on the weekend so his long-term liability is irrelevant in picking this team.

Fair enough. I must admit I only saw half the Tahs game.

I just feel Burgess is the better one for impact off the bench!

I just watched the Tahs game again and I think Burgess is the clear winner. I'm going to go as far as saying I've never seen a half-back have a better game. He was involved in 3 of the 4 tries. Not just involved but set-up them up. The first one to set-up Carter was outstanding, used his pace and strength to brush of his opposite in Sheehan and then the timing of the pass - wow! Just held it up superbly to put Tommy through. Sorry I know Genia's got game but I've never seen him do something like that.

Honestly, with the Wallabies Burgess' running game with our backs, specifically Quade, Kurtley and Drew is superior to what Genia can offer imo. I remember he set-up Quade twice in the June internationals last year with those typical runs.

Genia and Burgess both had solid games but Genia is just much better over the full skill set of a half back. Great to see both in form.
