Anyone know the 2nd grade team for tomorrow?
It was supposed to be uploaded onto the website today, but hasn't happened.

It is what it is

John Solomon (38)
For around 10 years now Randwick have been dished up in the forwards at the pointy end of the season. Forget wingers and centres or even backrowers, they need 2 good sets of tight five forwards to sustainably compete at 1st grade level when it matters.

10 years of it and that is your best example Macca?
You finished outside the top 4 again, and closed another season out being belted in the forwards in your season ender.
Other clubs have recruited/developed and built depth in their tight forwards but Randwick don't seem to give it the attention it needs.
It's one thing to have a pack of goers, it's another thing to be able to set up attacking platforms and win your own ball when it matters.

I dont disagree with you.
I did however make the point that it is not all bad at the Wicks. I think they know they need a big MoFo or 2 in the forwards. They do have some good ones there.

I agree with that sentiment. I understand it does affect the running rugby mantra with 2 or 3 big bodies. But they will adapt. Richie Aho had a great year whilst he was in the green - he was a big body.

An Ed Gower or Luke Jones build of player/s would add to the dynamic that is in the first and second grade sides.

Apart from that I think it's been a tremendous year. It's good that the discussion is based on "tinkering" with personnel changes. A big difference to the end of 2012...............................

Munro was valiant when he finally started the season. He attacked well , was a strong jumper in the lineout and very good to a loose ball. I don't think he was as effective in the scrum and lost a bit of ball on the hit up. His attitude was excellent.
I also thought Horowitz was excellent , as was Connor and Lautolo especially when on the wing. That's the young guns.
The old farts were well represented by Halangahu , wright , Ingram who brought some experience to the side. This is the mob they will miss the most next year.
My money would have been on Wright as he settled the back line IMO.

Look forward to next year but the grape vine says there are quite a few who may not be there and lack of experience will be heavily felt.

Someone must rate him, ABC TV seem to. Who would be your top three picks otherwise?

(1) Horwitz as the backline looked much more dangerous when he played
(2) Samu made a huge difference whether in the backs of forwards
(3) Lautolo who made the transition from wing to fullback and was very effective in both attack and defence

The are all worthy choices IMO. I also liked Halangahu & Wright. Samu had patches of brilliance however was out too much for my liking.

Nio is still head and shoulders above the other hookers in the club and his involvement around the park is great. Should have been captain.
Tim had his best season for several years -- injury free.
Interestingly Samu played the same number of games as Munro.

As best as I can recall, Samu seemed to be carrying injuries and didn't finish as many games as he would want. He ended the year in great form though. I hope Wright plays on. Lautolo, Munro, Connor, Horwitz, Bolliau & Baldwin were either eligible for Colts this year, or graduated last year so that isn't too bad for us.

And with young guys like Norton, Roye, Holmes-Baer etc coming through as well.
