Rest of the pack very good too. Locks busy, although seemed to fade.

Hynes was the best back, with some strong defense and good ruck work, Mitchell also had a much improved game. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)'s kicking was the liability I predicted prior to this match. Quade had the second game blues, and again as I said, should have been defending at 10, not 12, particularly in the set piece. The Irish defense was also in the backs face, and we shouldn't forget that pressure contributed to our poor showing out wide. Where is a set move from a set piece when you need it (isn't like our forwards aren't giving good ball from the scrum).

If we can forget the poor lineout all the other forwards were fantastic. Dominated in all other facets.

Do we put the numbers for points or the numbers for the best? eg. is three the amount of points we give them or is 3 the third best on field?

1. Pocock
2. Palu
3. Robinson

3 is the numer of points, so the best player. The old 3-2-1s.

So Pocock was your best?

Hmmm...
I haven't watched the game - had to get up at 5.30 to drive for 2 hours so no watching for me, and have to wait till Wed to fire up the Foxtel IQ.
But it seems Popcock had a good game!!
Unless you believe the 1 outlier on the thread. ;)

Pocock outstandijng and Rocky. Quade was rubbish. I like the guy but he his defense was poor. Ireland are pretenders. Gee, they have nothing.

That's a big call, Spook. The Paddies' kicking was generally very good (certainly better than ours) and their accuracy at the tackle and breakdown also very good. Their lineout is damned near impregnable and they run with the ball quite well. The only glaring weakness was an inablility to stop the Wallabies punching the pill up next to the RTM. They'll go well in the 6 Nations.

It's two things I noticed about the French in Oz this winter and the Paddies yesterday: they're very accurate in the tackle and they clear their own ball from the breakdown quickly. But I reckon the Frogs will target the Paddies' scrum after last night's match.

Ireland - they are poor in the physical stakes. Kaplan was a disgrace. Australia won every physical collision. We should have been comfortably ahead with 10 mins to go..

Ahh fuck it. Sorry all Scarfs. I'm buckled like an Irish tight head.

Yeah, the whole thing is incredibly disappointing. So close to still being on track for the Grand Slam.

Anyway,

Once again, Palu only just missed the cut for me. But it seemed to me that, in addition to good work around the park, Rocky saved our lineout.

Yes the Rock saved the lineout at number two jumper. However, Gits would have hurt Ireland with ball off the top. It's not good enough.
