fp,

What did you make of Daley's work in the scrum?

He did well, the Reds kept pressure on all game, but his workrate around the field was exceptional.

Just like NTA said, bloody hard to pick a top 3. Weekes had a top game, QC (Quade Cooper) as well, good work from Turinui esp in the 2nd half..

1. Genia. He orchestrated the calm and collective tight forward approach, that slowed the tempo and allowed us to build momentum. bravo.
2. Ant. Close to best of ground. His defense is outstanding, exceptional. However he showed beautiful hands in holding onto crisp passes in pressure situations. Although not the quickest of blokes, he runs with bulldog tenacity and stays up in contact very well.
3. Braid. An absolute masterclass of openside play under these interpretations. His defense in tight was clinical, he always made himself available to take the ball, and presented the ball cleanly. Made stunning turnovers, and lets not forget that kick.

Honourable mention goes to Van Humphries. That was an outstanding game in directing a young pack, all of those young players will remember and quote that game. His impact at the Reds has been fantastic as an older head and that would have done Rob Simmonds development a massive jog-along.

Most heartening Reds match in 10 years.

The difference for me was simple - 80 minutes - more importantly - the last 60 minutes

3 Braid
2 Higginbotham
1 Genia

Cooper started poorly. In the past his game would only go further down hill.
Last night he turned it around for the first time.
Link as done wonders for the attitude of the team.
If the Reds continue to show composure like they did last night they will beat many more teams before the season is finished.

3. Braid - simply superb
2. Van Humphries - best game from him since...can't remember.
1. Cooper - set up a try and kicking boots were on.

Points could easily have gone to a lot of other players. This was a great team effort.

Thought FaingaaA was fantastic too, as was Genia. In the pack, Weeks and Higgers were the other standouts.

Brando was the worst player on the field by some margin.

Brainless yellow card right in front of the touchie when the Reds were getting a roll on springs to mind...
