Let me get this straight.... NZ beat Aus 4 times this year, of which 2, really should have been won by Australia - both games lost mentally. And you think that Elsom could possibly be World Player of the Year over his opposite Captain?

Gotta be DuPreez if you ask me, althought I suspect all the NH pundits scribes will go for BOD, which is probably fair enough.

But I'm pretty sure you've already etched Benn Robinson's name into the trophy.

MR Elsom only made the poll because the list of 'nominees' was taken directly from the G&GR Team of the Year. Hence McCaw misses out because Brussow is pulling on the 7 shirt in the combined team.

Neither of Elsom or McCaw should figure in the voting IMO. DuPreez for me, his performance in the Baabaas game showed his influence on world rugby, and his effect on the players around him.

No need to be quite so paranoid Rage! Your man got outpointed by Brussow for the 7 jersey. You can disagree with that, of course, which is what we call "howling at the moon."
