Might as well get this going before I forget who did what.

3. O'Connor
2. Cross
1. Pocock

3 JOC (James O'Connor)
2 Cross
1 Hill

The two locks played well though.

Turner looked very good off the bench. But so did Sam Harris so Turner's performance must be down graded.

Atleast he wasn't able to say Izzy Dagg every 5 seconds this week!

Honestly, unless the commentators do absolutely nothign but go on about how great the aussies teams are, you guys always see it as biased.

I'm the first to admit but the kiwi comm's are biased, but certainly no more the aussies & certainly alot less than Kearns. I watched the game on Saturday and thought the commentary was good, even handed, there was a lot of talk about idiot and great moves on both sides - a classic example being the amount they went on about Pocock after making his tackle - it was man love at it's absolute worst.

Vast majority of comm's these days are based around the breakdown/turnover, where the Force were absolutely woeful. So it would be unsurprising that alot of the comm was about good movements there.

I don't know why you guys don't petition the ARU to never ever have NZ commentators. If there's 2 things that are sure as shit on this site after every game it's going to be NTA stating how the aussie props were screwed by the ref & somebody having a whinge about the comm's.

If it's that mcuh of a blight on the game, then turn the fucking comm's off, listen to some music (which if form is anything to go by, is going to be a broken record).

Agree with you there MJ. If you can listen to Kearns and swear he's fair, youve got something up your pipes.

You're angry Major. Let it go ;)

Major - quite often the Aussie props ARE getting screwed. Not on Saturday though - Baxter and co were beaten and the man himself admits it.

Jethro Tah

Bob Loudon (25)
3. Sharpe - good captains knock and good agro
2. JOC (James O'Connor) - for his continued consistency all year.
1. Hill - safe kicks, the odd run and for putting Cross into the holes

Commentators were fine IMO. Naturally, they knew the Highlanders better thus had more to say about them but were also complimentary of the Force. Loved the look of the stadium with hill seating and awesome scenery.

The Highlander try on the final whistle was definitely giving the attacking player the benefit of the doubt. If it was a match decider I bet Mitchell would have been really pissed.

are you trying to prove me right or wrong? I honestly don't know!

I'm agreeing with you. Cheetahs are a great example of a side who get away with it because the refs have forgotten that safety involves more than just a five second gap between crouch and touch.

In any case:

3 Rabbit - played a perfect positional game, even if he did miss a tackle that Pocock had to clean up
2 Sharpe - loving the aggro
1 Turner - this kid is class. Sign him up Rebels!

P.S. Major - to quote The Fern: This is an Aussie site. If you don't like it, piss off ;)

Perhaps he should spend his time on the Fern, that bastion of fair comment and freedom of expression.

The greatest certainly I know on rugby forums is that the kiwis will indulge in referee-bagging in the extreme whenevr their teams lose. They don't even wait for the game to end. The shortest wait for a Fern member to start about the referee kullung an UnZid team that I have seen is two minutes from kick-off.

To be fair (and we're off-topic) we ALL generally bemoan a ref as soon as they're appointed :)

The saying goes: if you don't infringe, the ref won't blow the whistle. To that I say: if that ref wasn't a useless pillock, we'd get a fair outcome.

Good god Biff have you even read a single thing on this forum ever? The ref bagging is out of this world.

The irony in your post, is truly outstanding.

But thank you for generalising me - much appreciated. As I've stated many times, I don't bag refs (I did once this year for the first time in 2 years) & I enjoy my rugby much more for it.

NTA - I think your spot on with your assesment.

The Fern is horrible in criticizing referees. Far worse than this forum.

I have long practised no bagging of referees, as it is very rare for a referee to determine the outcome of a game. Before the Tahs got done on Saturday, the last game I think was determined by the referee was Fiji v France at RWC 1999. That was a Paddy O'Breien special.
