Adding David would mean Cheika doesn't want one of his four props for the Irish test backing up in Bordeaux. The Irish quartet would probably be Kepu, Sio and two of Ala'alatoa/Robertson/Slipper. The BaaBaas props will be Lolohea, Ryan, Smith and the one missing out for Ireland.

This is a good move by Cheika, funnily enough we're looking a shade skinny for LHPs. It'd be nice if a Super side snaps up Lolohea for next year.

Wonder if we need another backrower with McMahon seemingly injured?

David L played THP for the Rams. Is he more a LHP at club?

I'm a little surprised he hasn't been picked up by a Super Rugby squad yet.

Having watched David for many years at West Harbour (he started off playing colts with my son in 2009) I, and others in the Council of Elders at Concord, reckon he's got LHP written all over him. Dunno what side he plays at the Two Blues but yer right Reg, he played mostly at THP for the Rams this year. In past years he's played both sides.

David would have to be a lot fitter, and stronger, to play THP at a higher level than NRC, something a good pre-season in a pro environment should fix. But I'd still pick him at 1.

Well this is an interesting development which may indicate what we may see from this team.

What positions do we still need to find an 'emerging prospect' for between now and Thursday? Should still be 3 or 4 bench spots with a ?. Lock would be one, and a loosie. What else?

Might need an inside back if Cooper's still out and Lance gets the call up

Doubt there will be tv coverage but I'd say the ARU will organise to have it streamed.

I'd say it will be named as soon as they know who's in it. Presumably they are chasing a few blokes for the last few spots and hopefully QANTAS are going to come to the party with some free flights for those blokes.

So let's assume everyone is fit for now:

1. Ryan
2. Hanson
3. Smith
4. Carter
5. Skelton
6. Fardy
7. Dempsey
8. McMahon
9. Stirzaker
10. Lance
11. Koroibete
12. Godwin
13. Perese
14. Nayarovoro
15. Kellaway

16. Ready
17/18. Robertson/AA/Tolohea
19. ????
20. ????
21. ????
22. ????
23. One of Speight/Morahan/Naivalu

Don't focus on the starting spots and names too much, I'm just seeing where the holes are.

McMahon has to be in doubt although it will be his last game and he's a tough fucker so he will probably just strap the fuck out of his ankle.

But we need a lock, a loosie, a half and a playmaker.

If it were me I'd be chasing

Staniforth
Reid
Louwrens
Debrezceni

Still struggling to understand after games he had with Rams this season why David Lolohea not been signed up tbh. Hopefully has a good game against French Baa Baa's as like to see where he could get to in a professional set up.

How about:

1. Ryan
2. Hanson
3. Smith
4. Carter
5. Skelton
6. Mumm (Fardy starts against Ireland, not Mumm)
7. Dempsey
8. McMahon
9. Frisby
10. Lance
11. Koroibete
12. Godwin
13. Perese
14. Naiyaravoro
15. Kellaway

16. Ready
17. Lolohea
18. Ala'alatoa (Robertson wears 18 for Ireland, A'a'a'a for England)
19. ?
20. ?
21. Stirzaker
22. ?
23. Speight

We need a second row, a backrower and an inside back. Working backwards, how about Quade getting some game time in this match if he's fit? He needs it, whack him on the bench; if he's not fit, Morahan. The other two: ask for volunteers among the Oz rugby diaspora. If that doesn't work, maybe Douglas and Timani, but give them minimal minutes on the paddock.

Bonjour!

It does smack of being a bit late. 24 hr transit + a few days jet lag.

But good luck to these guys. Great opportunity to be part of it.

It's a pity that the powers that be couldn't see this issue arising say a week ago. Have to say it was concerning me and a good many others here well before the France test.
