That actually wasn’t directed at you personally sorry Drew, just that the intention of the conversation was being blown out of proportion
All good. Like I said, I mistook this as the wallabies thread and was therefore thinking rwc.

Anyone know where this match can be viewed? Doesn't appear in the STAN program.

EDIT : My error. Is scheduled for Mon morning at 1.15am.

No mention yet of the Aus A/Portugal match though.

Anyone got some advice for watching the game in Singapore? I have committed the cardinal sin of booking a holiday in test season

Geez would it really of hurt Eddie to bring Foley along just for this WC
I don’t want to bring up old rants but I would have been happy for him to pick any one of cooper/foley/O’Connor/hodge/lolesio in place of kemeny. This I feel is going to really come back and bite us

Assuming it stays that way after Aug 29th. I feel the 2 games this weekend are final selection trials for some players, Foley and JOC (James O'Connor) in particular.

Kemeny is carrying a hand injury apparently so there is an out there.

Donaldson has been training mostly at fullback and Eddie is very happy with how Vunivalu has been training. Tupou available for selection.

Perhaps some hints in all of the above.

Kerevi & Kemeny a week away. Feel bad for Josh, he probably would've got a debut this weekend. I think we'll see a pretty experimental side this weekend that isn't focusing on France at all.

Anyone staying up to watch it live?
2am? Warm up game? No chance. I'm not waking up early for anything pre-quarter finals.

As an aside, I don't want Tupou playing because he'll injure himself but I also don't want Fa'amausili playing because he'll injure himself. I Aus had better odds to win the bledisloe than the odds of those two going through the cup unscathed.

Donaldson set for Wallabies warm-up against France

Shock selection Ben Donaldson could be in line for his first Wallabies appearance of the year when Australia face hosts France in their World Cup warm-up.

Donaldson won a spot on the plane to Paris ahead of veteran Quade Cooper and Jones said he wanted to get some game time into the 24-year-old, who has only played two Tests with both coming on last year's Spring tour.

The Wallabies face one of the tournament favourites at Stade de France early Monday morning (AEST) in their last hit-out before their opening pool match against Georgia at the same venue on Sunday September 10 (AEDT).

Jones hinted France might not field a full-strength side but said the main focus for the Wallabies was the World Cup rather than beating Les Bleus.

"Everything's about the World Cup - our target is the World Cup - so this is an opportunity for us to take another step forward," Jones said from the Wallabies base in Paris.

"We're playing France but we might not be playing France.

"Whilst we're certainly not disregarding France, we're not treating it as purely a training run, our aim is to get right for the World Cup.

"We've got four pool games, which are all going to be important, the first one against Georgia so this is an important part of our preparations for the Georgia game."

Jones said that prop Taniela Tupou (rib) is set to be available for selection while centre Samu Kerevi and backrower Josh Kemeny who both have hand injuries need another week.

He was happy with how Donaldson and also maligned winger Suliasi Vunivalu had been training.

"They're good options and both, on their arrival into France, have trained well, so they're putting their name up to be considered for the 23 against France and it would certainly be good to get a bit of game time into each of them," Jones said.

He said that Donaldson had been mostly training at fullback rather than five-eighth and that he fitted with their new attacking ethos.

"As a player, who can play 10 and 15 and a goal kicker, he's a pretty important player for us," Jones said of Donaldson, who is moving from the NSW Waratahs to the Western Force next Super season.

"He's got the skill set we want, which is to be able to play the game as it comes.

"We're restructuring our attack to be much more, we want to play to play ... and that suits his natural game.

"Coming out of Randwick, that's how Randwick play, a more natural style of game, so I've been really impressed by what he's doing."

This is crazy. He is basically admitting what everybody speculated that Ben Donaldson has only been picked because he comes from Randwick. Picking a Super Rugby player to play at a World Cup because of the style of his club team is close to the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

The timings for our games suck, this warm up, 3 of our 4 pool games and most likely our QF are all around 2am on a Monday morning. I feel like 2/3am is the worst time for a game, too late to stay up for, but not much point going going to sleep and then waking up at 2, 5am games are at least at a much better time.

It's shocking. At least if it was 2am Sunday you could just have a rager and stay up. Can't fucken do that for a 2am Monday kick off.

Bloody joke.

If you listen to the presser, the quote is actually "Coming out of Randwick, that's how we - that's how Randwick play, a more natural style of game, so I've been really impressed by what he's doing."

Nearly pulled yourself up Eddie, but not quite
