Been watching the Channel 9 promos for Saturday nights game and am nearly puking...for a network with next to no Rugby telecasting history or credibility Channel 9 are promoting themselves and their new found Rugby association more than the game itself!

I'll be sticking with Fox and Clarkey, Marto, Kafe and Kearnsie in preference to the Channel 9 newbies.

It's a non-event. The Nine in-play coverage is a FOX Sports feed. You'll get the same old gang regardless.

Before and after, Gregan and Slack go alright, but Sutcliffe is clueless.

Interesting article from News Ltd about how 1/4 of the people with Foxtel watched Nine's coverage for the Boks game: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/rugby-gold/nines-on-the-hunt-for-fox/story-fn8ouxrc-1226108695210

It's good news for people without pay TV but the rugby department over at Fox Sports are less than ecstatic. Surprisingly, their numbers dipped for the Wallabies-Springboks game in NSW with figures showing about a quarter of people with pay TV watched Nine's coverage anyway.
1 in 4, WTF! Does anyone know of a Foxtel subscriber who did this? This needs a poll..... added.

Why on earth would you choose to watch adverts in play? I guess not everyone has Fox HD, but surely HD subscribers would not switch to the SD feed on Nine. Perhaps the numbers are of viewers who flicked at full time to watch the last 5 minutes again and hear Gregan?

I stuffed the poll. I have Fox and watched it 100% on fox, but accidentally voted for Have Fox and watched it 100% on Nine.

Who would do that?

Anyhoo, Fox are running adds with Horan drawing attention to the fact that they don't have adds during the game. Pretty simple adds, almost like they knocked them up in a couple of hours one morning this week. Knee jerk reaction I would guess.

Have foxtel and have 2 other tv's, have one turned to the foxtel coverage and the other 2 turned to 9 to ensure the game gets maximum ratings. As for which one I actually watch, it depends on how many people are in the house..

Nice plan, slightly flawed though. Commercial ratings are determined by the very small sample of households that have ratings boxes installed.
Though, I believe Fox can tell what their customers are watching

Normally I watch on 9 but I've got a man day tomorrow. Out on the boat with a mate during the day, then to sharks leagues for the bledisloe and then watching the sharks v titans next door.

I don't get free to air where I live (lazy prick hasn't an antana up) so always watch fox. I wish they would all fuck off the commintators and only have the ref and players speaking with the roar of the crowd in the background.

What about doing a Fox video with triple M commentary on simulcast? Did anyone listen in last time, how was it?

Found myself in a location without Fox and got stuck watching the 9 coverage...huge audible groans from those present every time 9 went to an advert break :(

They would go to a break in a stoppage which is fair enough. But they would go through about 30 seconds of the stoppage before going to the break, and then come back 30 seconds back into play. They were showing 2 ads per break as well which annoyed me.
