Lets talk in context on super rugby debut onlyhad a week to prepare played out of position and hasnt really ha dmuch gametime of late i dont think he saw many minutes at all at narbonne.

All in context lads. And i will eat some humble pie if Harvey does not improve by a hundred per cent next game

That's not what you said though, you said
I also think to over look Harvey as a form player of the round is quite far-fetched given his performance from the weekend

Which is frankly, in my opinion, ridiculous. If you'd gone with 'Harvery had a better than expected debut - despite an abject lack of pace, his skill and tactical awareness are largely able to compensate for it,' then I'd have got around it.

Anyway, it's good to see we aren't all just listing the same players - without wanting to sound too excited, it seems we are starting to see some depth emerge. Although perhaps, as Lee Grant would say, it's breadth rather than depth. Might have to wait a few more rounds to see who can maintain their early form.

Here's a couple of guys who I liked over the weekend:

Brett Sheehan - the guys reminds me a bit of the Tahs/Wallaby half-back who left last year? Name escapes me right now. Sheehan made a couple of big plays in the last 20min-30min of that game on Sat nite and he seems to play with a lot of heart which I personally always love from players in any game.

Albi Mafi - I like the look of this guy. There wasn't any big 'Wow' moment or anything for him but he seemed really, really keen and has got great feet. Reminded me a little of a young Dougie Howlett.

Christian Lealiifano - the more time gets at 10, the better he will get.

Overrated guys so far:

Rob Horne - for all the hype I heard about this guy last year, I'm yet to see the goods. I hope he's not the back-line saviour of the Wallaby back-line plenty of people were hoping he would be.

TPN - I like this guy but he seems to just a shadow of his former self.

I did say that your right admittedly I meant form players of the round for Aus not the best player.. however I never stated my reasons for my thoughts. I believe he was a form player I think given the type of match and the conditions under which he played he showed class regardless of a few errors and slow feet. If it was 20 old under the same conditions i think people would be salivating over them. Your quite welcome to disagree but i think his form was solid and out of a horrible weekend for Australian clubs he was in my top 5.

I know godfrey mentioned it but I can't believe no-one else has put Sharpie's name forward. The guy has been on fire and playing like he's the same age as Luke Jones. Jones has been good so far too, although I've neglected to pay much attention to his lineout work.

I don't think he's been as good as he was last year

Personally I've thought all the hookers (except Tatafu whose been out of form), have been playing really well this year.

Great for the wallabies with Hanson, Fainga'a, Charles all pushing for that 3rd hooker spot.

To fill in the Brumbies blanks...

Sam Carter and Leon Power have both been good in their games.

Fardy was the best 6 of the round.

Mowen's captaincy and work around the park has been excellent.

Nic White put in the best halfback performance in round 3 in his 30 minutes on the field. Ian Prior has also been solid.

Jesse Mogg is one of the form Australian outside backs and has looked the goods at fullback.

Slim, I reckon Andrew Smith is looking better than he has ever done. Seems to have more power this year. Always makes the gain line.

Forcefield

Ken Catchpole (46)
Sharpie has been giving away far too many penalties. His first against the Tahs was a bad call but nevertheless I think he is leading the Force's penalty count. He's been good though. I've really like Cowan and Charles. Angus Cottrell and Alfie Mafi have impressed too.

Funny thing about this year is that a lot of the unheralded players are outplaying their Wallaby counterparts. Christian Lealiifano has been great- he's really tightened up a few areas of his game. I was really impressed by Luke Jones and Hugh Pyle in the game I saw them play. Rob Simmons will be feeling the heat.

I am going to add Kane Douglas into the mix. His work rate has well and truely increased (18 tackles, 5 runs on Saturday.) and he hits and moves rucks. (still a few penalties unfortunately)

Weeks has been having a cracker the past few games for the rebs, as has pyle and blake off the bench- big impact. Being in a team with JOC (James O'Connor) their work is often overlooked I reckon

Luke Jones has been lookign the goods i think he and hugh pyle should definately be considered for wallabies squads at least as a train on player. However i am pretty sure i heard somewhere that Jones prefers/or has played alot of blindside flanker, can anyone confirm this?

Could be a nice back big pack for Aus in a few years if you have pyle/simmons,horwill,jones in it

He played all his schoolboy rugby at lock however if he isn't going to get taller I don't think he has the height for international rugby at lock.
