At the Reds v Blues match on Friday night I had a chat to a Welsh bloke who said Gareth Delve would be more likely to be at a disadvantage of being picked to play for the Welsh team as he is playing Super Rugby and isn't playing to the style that the Welsh team currently uses.

Just wanted to know people's thoughts on the matter and how this would affect your decision making as a coach of a national team towards picking a WC squad.

Can be any foreign player currently in Super Rugby.

Obviously this would only occur if coaches selected players playing overseas.

I think they would be stupid to leave Delve out. He is in incredible form and is developing a knowledge of playing in the Southern Hemisphere, playing against the best players in the world. He is always best on field and I can't recall a game he played badly in (haven't seen the game from last weekend).
This goes against how I feel about the Australian players overseas but Wales have said that they will pick overseas based players so he should be in with a shot.

(Showing my ignorance) do the wallabies have a policy on picking players who are playing overseas?

My understanding is that any player wishing to play for the Wallabies must also be signed to an Australian Super Rugby franchise.

Ruggo, spot on with that. Hopefully Higgers can show some good form if he gets time at blindside in any TN games or the test against Samoa (I think it is Samoa)

Afusipa Taumopiau and Sitaleki Timani will be lining up for Tonga.

Sitas is captain too.

Kahn Fotai'li is class, I wouldnt be suprised if the AB's eventually get their hands on him.

My highly bias opinion feels that if Delve can play this well super rugby level, then he should waltz right into the welsh squad.

08umema, be flattered. This bloke has dreamed up a whole story just to capture your attention.
