It all depends, if the force try to play rugby the Tahs will win with a bonus point, if they try to destroy the contest and bore the game out, the Tahs will win with a bonus point.

Carter to run amuck

Rocky was a chance to play against the Force after a physical contact session involving the squad on Friday - but he won't be playing. He will be assessed next Monday. Reading between the lines I think that they considered that the long flight both ways would do him no good. I also think that he will be a hot chance to play against the Rebels in Round 9.

Don't expect too many changes in the Tahs team for Friday.

I thought he was just a model for the new Waratahs double breasted suit.

The Waratahs are going to make a fortune next year when they start marketing themselves as a designer menswear label.

Looks like Nalanga will be in for the force(prob for Wira). Hopefully the way the force are playing now he will see plenty of ball and we can see what he has got.

I think Mafi is about to cut loose. He ahs had a few ok games and if they can get some long studs in his purple boots se he doesn’t fall over after he has done the hard work I think we are in for a treat.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Harvey at 10 just to see what he has got maybe a 10/12 with Seymour or Seymour on the bench with Sheppard (reported he is back) at 15.

The Force have glimpses of what they can do and what they cant but this week is the time to really prove that they have what it take. WILL THE REAL WESTERN FORCE PLEASE STAND UP!

Damn i was looking forward to seeing rocky play his first and last Super Rugby game of 2012 just like last year when he came over with the Brumbies. Not sure i want to go now....

I can understand the logic, if he doesn't get on a plane this week he won't need to again until mid May when the Tahs goes to SA

After the Force the Tahs have .......
Waratahs v Rebels - Sydney Football Stadium
Waratahs v Crusaders - Sydney Football Stadium
Brumbies v Waratahs - Canberra Stadium
Waratahs v Bulls - Sydney Football Stadium

So he can build up his playing minutes without any flights challenge his recovery for another month

The Tahs don't need any help from the Force to be boring. And the Force try to play rugby every week...the backs just stuff it up for us ;)

Nope, the force the last two times have gone in with a game plan of destroying the conference. The Tahs have got the blame cos the expectation of there fans is that the team has the ability to win. Something the force players and coaching staff have never experienced the burden of so therefore are rarely criticized for.

The force play some very boring forward oriented rugby, they are far worse than the Tahs and it is just trolling and poor form to accuse the Tahs of being boring when compared to the team fro the west.

You almost sound like you believe that.

The Force has gone into the last two games playing to their strengths (breakdown) and away from yours (defence/scrums). So it's a territorial game for us, but the Force don't choose how you respond to it. If you are so piss poor at the breakdown, recruit better, select better and coach better. If your kicking is aimless, hire a decent kicking coach and bench players who don't chase well. If your backs can't make it over the advantage line, be a bit more creative. We don't blame the Waratahs for the Force's limited ability to attack.

Otherwise you could say that the Waratahs ruin games because they are so good at defending.

Agree with Forcefield. Sure the Force have deficiencies at the moment and as fans we recognise that ourselves.....so we choose to play to our strengths which is at the breakdown. Sorry WJ if you think that's boring, but we aren't going to go out and play to your teams strengths. That would be counter productive to our teams chances. Rugby has many facets to it, you just got to learn to love them all.

C'mon mate, your coaching staff's stated aim last year was to kick the ball so much that the fickle NSW crowd would turn rabid. Ie to bore them in to insanity.

It's a long bow to draw saying that the Tahs will be more boring. Honestly, it depends which Tahs team turns up. One Tahs team will run you off the paddock and play brilliant attacking football with ball in hand, the other...well, we've seen what it can do too. One thing you know is that the Force will play to their limitations and struggle manfully to gain any sort of penetration in attack. If the second Tahs team turns up it'll be a snoozefest, if the first turns up it'll be a decent game with a Tahs bonus point.

Sorry Moon, Tahs fans did and have argued that line for years and be shouted down with all manner of comments about winning ugly being bad for the game etc etc - and that was when we WERE winning, and dominating Australia. You can't turn around and play that card now.

Yes, something of a double standard here.
Force play to their strength with a limited style game=resourceful, smart rugby.
Tahs play to theirs and they're boring.
What a load of twaddle.

So when the waratahs play to there strengths its "ugly" when the force do it, it's "playing to there strengths" as I said, the burden of expectation falls not in the west and there band of mediocrity.

Tahs by 40.
