Agree....if this is a professional competition pay the airfares for a couple of impartial refs to call the game. By the time the Stormer play out of SA it will be too late, momentum will be with them. Hopefully the Crusaders will bring a reality check in week 12. As I said Stormers don't play outside of SA until week 13 WTF.
Tonights Ref was a little out of his depth. That said if the Force are going to go anywhere they need to play well enough so that any 50/50 calls don't have a major impact on the outcome of the game. Force a ways off from being a contender. If they ever loose O'Connor they will be in the shit. As a rugby city, Perth needs to be doing it better that the rest to attract players.

I agree with the ref being out of his depth and that explains a lot of the game but the 50/50 calls thing isn't right. This is a top notch comp and 50/50 calls decide allot of games in all top notch rugby games because refs are not consistant or screw up a lot. I swear the force are on the bad side of the ref 90% of there games. I just don't get it.

The ref in this game is not ready for super rugby and this is not the first game too prove it.

this seems to be a common trait amongst force fans

Maybe I'm just bias but I know we could not have won the game on our performance even if the ref was good ( in my opinion) but a 10 point too 15 point deficit would of been more likely.

Also how can south African refs referee a match that involves a south african team?

I don't think that bias is an issue, apart from the home game/crowd influence that you just can't avoid.

A potential problem with the conference system is it is a step towards 3 domestic comps, with their own refs, with a championship at the end for the winners. The refs and teams find an accommodation as the season progresses, but in the three conference system there are potentially three consensus's, and your games on tour are potentially that much harder.

Danilok I could have made as many posts re the ref against the Cheetahs yesterday or every time the Aussies commentators said oh the Cheetahs were hard done at that call but I have learnt that keeping a open mind and just enjoy the game works so much better....

Well, your powers of foresight were greater than mine, Whatty. Apparently some did want to have that discussion. Well done the Stormers for a very good win. Looks like it's them or the Crusaders with daylight next.

The ref was shocking everything went the stormers way until the yellow.

High tackle cummins wtf. The touchy must of said it wasn't high because the ref was going too send him off and then pretty much apologized too cummins but still gave the stormers a penalty.

Knock on mafi. Wtf. So many backwards calls for the stormers and this was a good 2 foot backwards.

Sharp penalized after coming through the middle of the ruck and someone pulling him out only by his head that's appalling and he should of been carded right there.

How can you be only penalized for a punch and not carded. Because the ref this time saw what happened and ignored the touches advise. It wasn't a punch. Penalty too the stormers anyway before hand.

Sheps quick line out not given is just shocking were they on drugs.

At the end the tackler never released and ripped the ball but saying that it really didn't matter.

After all is said I'm not saying we should have or would have won. The stormers are a good team but when they play outside the republic they will lose.

Also how can south African refs referee a match that involves a south african team ? I know it happens all the time but it's stupid. It's a problem with the s15. It doesn't matter if the refs do a good job or not. It's a sport. No other sports do this as far as I know. Even gayfl don't allow refs from the teams background.

Go the force!!!!

Rubbish. The ref was fine. Cummins high shot looked very bad in real time, and I would have called it as well. On the replay it was shown to be just below the line of the shoulders, so it was a bit unlucky but still a fair call.

Mafi's knock-on was dubious but it did bounce a long way forward. He shouldn't have dropped the kick-off in the first place anyway.

Sharpe wasn't penalised in the play you are referring to. It was the Force player who dove in at the base of the oncoming maul, bringing it straight to ground. Fair call.

The Force were not hard done by at all. They were deservedly reamed by a better team. The ref had nothing to do with it, and I thought his management at the scrums was very good in fact.

Reddy!, have I told you how nice it is to have you back and fully unhinged? :) Reds are going well at the moment, but I will wait till they have played the Blues, Stormers or Crusaders at least to start predicting glory. The last 2 opponents for the Reds have not quite been in that league. And remember, you even lost to the lowly Tahs.;)

appears that there was an outbreak of food poisoning the night before the game,in the Force camp.three players were put on a drip.probably partially accounts for the lethargic display.
appears that Suzi is still alive & well, preparing for the world cup>:D

The Farce posters on here is making me dislike them most in the Aus conference. Few weeks ago they built up a 20 pager thread try to defend a red card for a bored tackle against the Sharks and on the receiving side of ref cards. This weekend they want cards for the Stormers left right and center while they knew pretty well not even a Father Xmast ref would have saved them in this game. Pretty sure even WP Vodacom would have beaten them on yesterdays play. They may have a Rabbit in 10 but we have an Energade Bunny in 2. Impressed with the way the Stormers kept their defensive structure while more attacking play from them. Not the perfect product just yet but closing in. The Farce well there amount of cards thus far in the compo show they are the dirty thugs in the competition and their moan and groan supporters maon and groan for the wrong reasons. Any rugby team should rather play to the refs whistle probably their biggest mistake and they wont get anywhere with this ref atttacking attetude their supporters show here on this forum. It only make a Stormers victory more sweeter for their supporters.

G'arn, they're the posters you love to hate! Whats the point of hanging out with a bunch of yes men!

Stormers smashed em. Reds will be softened up by the Lions and ready for the BBQ in a fortnight.

I think attacking the head should lead to a card purely because of the risk to the neck/eyes, its the type of thing that can end a guys career, not in the spirit of the game. And don't call me precious, cause I've seen it happen in club rugby, and its not nice for anyone involved.

To be fair on the farce they seem to cop a bit of dirty play from the saffas, and they dont exactly get a good rub with the refs, especially if they try and give it back.

That said, how good are the stormers. Potent centres, sharp shooter at 10, and brutal defence. Fark me reds will have to aim up against this lot in a couple of weeks.

Ok. I thought in real time cummins tackle looked fine. It was never close too being around the neck.

Mafi'a knock on went back. It's as simple as that. I agree about the fact it rolled forward and that does make it look worse but you cant say he should of caught it. Are we going too start too call all dropped balls forward? That's what your implying.

Im sure the maul never went down even after the penalty was awarded against sharp and its more the point Sharp could have had serious damage done too his neck and I have seen refs recently penalize head locks in mauls. This case was the worst head lock I have seen this year.

All of this stuff was never going too change the outcome and the post was after many of beers lol. Also don't attack every force poster on here as I was the one one who really heated things up.
I agree we would have never won the way we played I am just pointing out the mistakes the ref made and they made it harder too stay in the game. I am going too leave it at that because it's the right thing too do but so everyone knows I do not believe we should have come close too winning. The stormers are a bloody good side and they deserved too win.

JOC (James O'Connor) cummins sharp had a very good game.

I agree with what everyone is saying. Without JOC (James O'Connor) we do not look like scoring. It's a huge problem and we need Mitch Inman and pocock back to get better penetration through the middle and more pilfers at the ruck.

It's like the tahs with no phil.

It shows how good a team like the crusaders are. They have a chance at every position too penetrate and loosing one or too players are not going too bother them too much. Eg mcaw.

Go the force!!!!

It's allright Shiggins, you only did it because of your passion for the team. I do the same thing when I watch the game. Though probably worth noting that of the 3 Nationalities that post on here in any great number, Australia is lowest on the totem pole in Rugby success these last 10 years, so we end up copping it on the chin if the Saffers or Kiwis accuse us of whinging.

I'll preface these remarks by saying I've not yet seen the game.

I think at some point we Force fans have to stop blaming the ref and accept that the other mob were better than us. We've probably copped the rough end of the pineapple this season, but I don't think it's bias and I don't think it's systematic. You don't lose six tries to one through bad luck or a bad referee. We play a confrontational type of footy and its a result of being a little limited in the creativity department. I'm OK with that, because you can only go with the cattle you have in the short term. With that said, I think we have to accept that this style has its risks and occasionally we'll get whistled off the paddock. The boys are whole hearted and passionate and I love them for it, but it needs to be tempered occasionally with some smarts.

I know we all love our team, but I draw the line at looking outwards for reasons why we lose.

Bekker, Louw, the whole Stormers tight 5 = huge.

Absolutely relentless in defense. What an effort.

How Louw can be huge when he scored me -5 in my fantasy team I'll never know! Sigh.

Maybe the other way round, Stormers have another Everest to climb against the Sharks in Durban while the Reds will have an easy game on Ellispark.
