Force v Moana Rd 1 2025, Feb 15 6:35pm

Shiggins

I call that a must win game for the force. I don't think they really deserved it but the end almost made it deserved for the effort to fight back.
out scrum was poor. reserves not great.
our backs struggled to get in the game for 84 minutes. when Donaldson went through I knew he would make it. the fastest 10 in Aus rugby by a fair bit. he also kicked perfect I believe ? didn't miss any.

heaps to improve on. scrums a worry, getting the backs involved a worrie. restarts poor. some good carries by the forwards.

question marks on nick white, fines delivers much faster and offers more for the future of Australian rugby. Nick's best asset was always his boot however that doesn't seem to be there anymore.

surley he starts on the wing next week.
the force need to use their depth this year to minimise their fatigue in travel. any game away from home they need to look at leaving some players in Perth or players meet up for the second game.

similar to what the Brumbies did for Fiji. problem is as we saw our depth in the front row is not good.

Brilliant win, thought we looked like the better team with the ball just conceded soft tries and then the game turned when our scrum started getting smashed.

Reserve front row a big worry, need Coxon to come in and hopefully pick up some injury replacements for Hoopert and HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes). Need a proper lock on the bench as well.

Pietsch to start next week and BPA on bench.

1. Pearce 2. Dolly 3. Robertson
4. Williams 5. Swain
6. Prinsep 8. Ekuasi 7. Tizzano.
9. White 10. Donaldson 11. Potter 12. Stewart 13. Tomkinson 14. Pietsch 15. Grealy
16. BPA 17. Coxon 18. Moli 19. Carter 20. CDC 21. Fines 22. Burey 23. Palu

When is proctor back? Not sure of other injury status, but he is a proper 13 and Tomkinson should be 12.

Champion de Crespigny was very good and a solid sized unit as well. More than earned another start. In fact i would put him in my Aussie team of the week with Reimer and Gleeson.
Great to see Robbo back and holding the scrum strong. Dolly is all energy, a few mistakes, but just keeps going.

He was great. Just what all good sides have is a brute in the backrow. He's never going to look flashy but he's got the intimidator presence needed. Seems a disciplined player as well so doesn't have the Swinton risk.

Front Row is going to be the issue moving forward once they are gassed.

I was surprised they signed Tauakipulu, he got toweled up at scrum time playing for the tahs, wasn't the signing they needed. They should've chased someone like Fotuaika before the brumbies got him.

Yep we don’t know what happened in the background, would like to think they chased Pone and Eloff as well.

Definitely start champion de crespigny again he was very good.

Not convinced with Tomkinson, could move Potter to 13 as well, until Proctor ready
