Sorry, that wasn't at all intended to offend. I just meant I have trouble keeping track of the nicknames and other language words you put in with the english stuff. Honestly, wasn't having a go.

I know its a language thing, but honestly it seems like someone just pokes words out of your posts and replaces them with random things they make up.

Paarl's colorful language cannot be understood 100% by anyone else but me on this board (and God knows, no offense Paarl, I sometimes have my moments). :)

You are the first to ever complain, which in itself says enough. If it's too much for you, just don't read it son.

Yeah Godfrey was just pointing out that his education hasn't included several years of interpreting Kengdutch (being Kitchen Dutch mixed with English).

I see where he's coming from, but I've got manners :)

Just jokes Godfrey, just jokes :)

Pie Eater= Pienaar?

Don't knock PB - he gave as that great name for the Cheetahs - "Tin Ears"

Keep them going PB. By the way - I like the looks of Duvenhage.

Why are the called the "Tin Ears"? Can someone pass down this G&GR Folklore?

Pie Eater & Skollie is my description of Ricky Januarie. You just have to look at his fat arse to realize he is on a Pie diet, more like your Matt Dunning a year back. Skollie is more the way he grow up in the country town in the Boland Hopefield, Ashwin Willemse the same in Caledon, they use to fight to survive as kids, maybe the better word is mongrel? :thumb

Tin Ears is our Boer way to call the fatties cauliflowers (like a tin cut open or tramp on). For some reason the Free State (Cheetahs) of the old days got that Boer name and you only have to look at Os du Randt to understand fatties and scrumming running in that lot vains.

Dankie Oom Lee, if you are satisfied I am too. ;)

Dewaldt came through the tough route to the S14 level. He has enormous talent as a schoolboy, havent made the WP Craven Week side (played for Gimmies first team two years on the trott), playing behind first Francois Hougaardt (Brute backup for FdP) & Conrad Hoffman (on the edge to make the Stormers bench and curent WP Vodacom 10 & 9) and in his matrix year it was flippen Siegelaar keeping him out. Siegelaar a typical qouta now playing somewhere for the Lions. Anyway I know Dewaldtss parents pretty well and not the wealthiest of people could not afford a R120,000 to send him on their cost to WP Academy on Stellenbosch (the Craven Week lot get sponsorred by WP and go there for free) So he had to go to Boland , get picked for their CC side straight away (Louis Koen also a x Gimmie was co coach there) and made his debut against the Cheetahs (still when Rassie coached them) and score two tries. Thats where Rassie picked him up and contracted him at WP as soon as he arrived at WP. Myself always believe in a player doing the hard yards and earning their stripes and Duvenhage is one of those, Rossouw de Klerk another one.

Sorry for the detail and hope it makes Oom PB more understandable.

So Duvenhage did it the hard way and still came through. Good for him. I will watch his career with more interest because you have explained it - just as did the career of Willemse, who also had a struggle, though of a different nature.

Saw Ashwin is a commentator these days for MNet. He had that wonderfull year and nothing more. Had house problems and a lot of injuries ended his career. Ashwin was in his kiddie days a gangster and rugby sort of pull him through, from the streets. Nowadays he is a reborn Christian.

Genia sure the least of Fourie,s worries, maybe Genia will end up in League before FdP ends in Japan. Haqts of to our Legion to give the Brutes more then enough time to plan. So the measure stick is Genia, lets see in a few weeks in Brisbane the way FdP and Duvenhage match up to the Aus great!

I intend no disrespect at all to Du Preez who is clearly the top banana number 9. However, I have seen him and Genia in only one fair contest and the outcome was undoubtedly Genia 1 Du Preez 0.

Genia is the form scrum half in Super rugby. FdP is already a legend.

Got to say,

Love the way PB talks; real passion for the game we all love and vocab to make you feel like your up in the Gauteng province. The man drops a lot of knowledge in G&GR and for that I am grateful (he even likes blue, but is not a Tah).

FDP is a legend, Good on him letting the franchise and the board know of his plans years before hand so as to give them time to prepare. Genia although a remarkable player has a long, long road to travel just yet boys!

In the battle between the old bull and the young bull there can be only one outcome. The only questions are the timing and nature of the ousting.

Yes we already know what's going to happen. It's been made public. The Old Bull will leave at the end of 2011. He will hand over the the Young Bull, Hougaard. There are no questions.
