Gordon’s Annual Report is out and again they have posted a profit for 2014 of $400k on a revenue of circa $900k.
There is no doubt, the club is heading in the right direction after serious issues a few years back. A $900k rev puts them in the same company as Sydney Uni, West Harbour and Manly. ( not sure about how much the other clubs have made this year).
Great to see.

Well done to whoevers doing recruiting at Gordon for colts, I see you have a couple of gun players from Barker 1st XV No. 6 Smerdon (NSW 1sts) and No. 10 Burkett (NSW 2nds).

Other way around, 10 Smerdon and 6 Burkett.

I haven't seen the list but very reliable sources have confirmed that those two young men are not the only top notch players from the Class of 2014 that will be running around on Chatswood Oval.

Things appear to be on the up for Gordon and full credit to the current committee who have turned things around.

Aussie Dominance: Any reason why the coaches have opted for Lachie Mitchell instead of Sione Ala - who seemed to be in favour in 2014?

Sione hasn't trained the whole pre - season with a few niggling injuries (missed some trials as well) I think you will find that quite a few guys through the grades aren't in grades that ability warrants at the moment (due to missing parts of pre - season through injury/unavailability etc) just because the club has a few more numbers around than it has in the last 3 or 4 seasons.

If the club can sustain that depth it will be good but lets wait and see. One thing for sure is that coaching staff have certainly rewarded putting the effort in in pre - season.

It will be interesting to see what the process for bringing back Heavey, Fraser & Ben Lawley from injury is as these guys are certainly higher graders and in Fraser's case played in the NRC.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but not only are Gordon fielding 3 Colts teams today - which is the first time in a few years they have done so...
They are also fielding an under 18s / 4th grade colts team AND a 5th grade vs Easts today.
They have really turned the ship around and its great to see.
