Inside Shoulder

Only on Setanta, as is Wales. Scotland is on Fox, though.
sounds like an interesting game - Shags has the sh1ts with replays (he's got a point) owens sounds muddled again.
Bit of something got Coles 10.

don't usually do the blame the ref thing but there's no fucking way Coles should've got a YC & the PT was at best doubtful
Completely agree the PT was doubtful, but I think the YC was fair. Lashing out with the boot at a exposed ankle is hardly good behaviour, even if you are being held in a ruck.
But yeah the late try meant the scoreline flattered us.
Oh and on the TMO after the try was awarded thing.
I don't think it's good game management to be reacting to the crowd that blatantly, but in fairness to Owens he was obviously checking for a knock on or whatever rather than reviewing the try as a whole (as he awarded it after one replay that didn't show the ball being grounded). Perhaps he thought the crowd had spotted Faumuina losing it on the pickup and wanted to avoid a controversial score.
I think the crowd was thinking the ball was grounded short in the mistaken belief that the advertising in goal was the tryline. And they were probably sore due to a mistaken belief that Cruden hadn't grounded it.
Lashing out blindly more like. Seeing as the ankle was behind him and not belonging to Hartley, I don't think Coles was aiming for it.
I've seen worse let go but I've seen less carded, I don't really have a problem with that.
I had completely forgotten about that, though he came to the right conclusion in the end.
What part of convincingly outplayed and the scoreline flattered us did you not get?
As a pom I am allowed to be frustrated when we don't seem to be making any progress against the SH sides. As for Owens I still disagree, other than the penalty try to us ( I wouldn't have given it), I can't think of any controversial decisions.
The call in the end was fine, but it's not good game management IMO.
oI was targeting my rant at Owens and the rest of the refereeing fraternity for their diabolical standards and more general comment. Eng is the Wobs equivalents of the NH, always trumpeting their superiority in face of zero results. Its a shame that the global quality of refs is heading the same direction. Ahhhh, I know your frustrations all too well with my team. Except any love from the ref we we receive usually takes the form of 2 ominous cards. So no sympathies from me
Those highlights are enought to remind me of what annoying and error prone prig Owens isI've only seen a coupla highlights packages & don't usually do the blame the ref thing but there's no fucking way Coles should've got a YC & the PT was at best doubtful - maybe a pen for GOAT detaching early, though he'd probably argue that it was going sideways so fast he couldn't hang on. And as for re-reviewing a try when the conversion is being lined up
Anyhoo, as someone noted above it's a bit like the Dunners match - England good in the1st half & ahead at HT; AB come out & do the damage in 3rd 1/4; England, well out've it by now, come home with a wet sail & look like they got closer than they really did.
Maybe he is starting to believe his own hype? Wouldn't be the first ref to do it!
the All Blacks have lost their areola.
Eng clueless really. They just needed one prick to hoof it into space downtown and then chase like a Ben Smith to give themselves a chance for their forwards get possession again to rumble one over. Thank fuck they didnt find that one prick
That is exactly who I was thinking of... Would rather both of those than Poite any day still.Until he became an Aussie we used to call it the Steve Walsh Syndrome.....
But the Poms aren't a good as they think they are and the All Blacks have lost their areola.
@CharlieFelix: Steve Hansen on Jonny May's try: "He won't get many softer ones."
