Serious question too about Hooper, apparently he now the most YCed player in test history, as Cyclo asked last week (and quite rightly) about SBW, does he need to pulled into line as captain? Or perhaps change the captaincy?
And genuine question
Don’t all 7’s push the edges....and you want them to...Richie McCaw was best at pushing the edges which made him one of the great 7’s. Maybe Hooper getting too much on wrong side of the edges...don’t know...

The first artical I found on Richie says he received 3 YCs in his career. So yes, I'd say that Hooper is getting on the wrong side. It is not good for the Wallabies, surely any other player would be counseled over it.

We should have put a patent on it - have you seen the footage of Eddie Jones up in his coaching box.

We lost, beacuse we didnt score enough points that simple.
When Beale, Hooper, Genia have excelled in recent tests why bang on and crucify them - the commentators praised Hooper time and time again through that test match. I thought the Poms were more offside than us - or is it because they have line speed (more than a couple of players) were as we had Hooper speed and it sticks out.

Thought Koroibete was a stand out, I hope structured coaching doesnt ruin the talent that guy has, Wingers dont get my MOM but he deserved it this weekend.

I thought that was a tough yellow, and hard to blame Hooper that much. There were repeated offences, but all in the one passage of play so there were no warnings at all.

You'd hope the ref would have been consistent with that standard, but we never gave him a chance to be sadly.

Agree. I wonder if Hooper was the sacrificial lamb? I have t checked it, but were all the advantage infringements Hooper, or did he take one for the team?

At any rate, Hooper’s card count is too high. Things surely can’t be left like that,

FFS The bloke is representing one of our national teams. A little bit of class would go a long way. You'd probably be OK with " We lost because of the fucking cheating fuckwit of a ref and the cheating grubs we played against !"

Well if it was fucking the cheating fuckwit of a ref and the cheating english bastards we were playing we would've one! :)

I think one was him. But none of the offences were particularly cynical IMO.

One thing he had a problem with was when we were defending on the goal line, Hooper having his hand on the ground in front of the try line thus not being behind the line.

Whew. You think there is nothing similar from England with the Aussies pushing the line? Look you're probably right, just it sounds like a particular splitting of hairs.

Adversarial much? I added this because it was one thing specifically pointed out about Hooper at the point he got yellow carded. I think England were offside on plenty of occasions that weren't called.

Doesn't matter, AFAIK, if there are too many infringements in the red zone, the referee reaches for his pocket. Mind you, a warning would have been nice, surely he could have given one on the run?

listening to the ref comms the O/S calls were from Clancy so perhaps there wasn't time I also think they weren't all Hooper. However YC all day. It did seem however that the ARs were not on the ball in both red zones

I'm only getting to watch it now. I missed the start and the second half. Already England were miles offside from a kick chase and didn't get penalised yet we get a try disallowed even though Hooper was put inside very quickly.

His passion comes as part of the package, he wears his heart on his sleeve. I guess he should be more be less passionate, more diplomatic and say nothing like most other coaches or just cover the video camera. But I don't think that would be better, just different complaints

We dropped too much ball and made stupid decisions , nearly whole team dropped a ball , Beale not playing the whistle , what about the replacement front row straight on and penalised for going early , didnt they watch the start of the match?? Hooper was offside did he think no one would see ? stupid ,Genia should have been off by half time , shocker , Rob Simmons is a lovely bloke but times up .. if we had held the ball we would have won that ,, i thought the English played our game ,, hard up front go wide and keep the pace up .. very disappointed

Without our 2 best players I think this was always going to be tough though. Hoppers dissalowed try is a joke. He was in front then as kurindrani kicks he slows and puts his hands up. I counted 1.5 seconds from the kick and him.being put onside while he is slowing down and hand in the air. It's a try

How the hell was Hooper carded? The first time England really have the ball and they have been offside the whole game at this point. Their quick defensive line in this game so far is poor. One player is always offside. So Hooper is offside twice in the same play and is carded? No warning. Wow. Way to ruin a test match. No professional foul.
