It's the "second" strip, so no big deal to me. Many countries' second strip changes with time, and they seem to be a fluid thing. Why not black? I mean France, Scotland, Ireland, NZ, and others have all worn white at times. England didn't go all crappy because they did, and they "own" white, so to speak.
If it truly irks a few Kiwis, it is hardly surprising, and a little amusing.

In 2007 France even tried making their home strip such a dark shade of navy that the All blacks would have to wear grey against them.

If their away kit had always been black, fine, but to change it to the exact colour of the hosts kit suggests a lack of respect. Surely someone in the ERU still believes in the values that make rugby such a great sport, you know, like respect for your opposition and hosts?

Why didn't they go with the fabulous orange of their 7s team?

wish the wallabies would bring out a dark navy with gold piping ala socceroos, dark jerseys rule, its not a pr stunt, the IRB apparantly told everyone they needed an alternate strip, the kiwis can ring them and complain.
