He doesnt seem to have the ability to really lead the lads.
He is a fantastic player, and important for the Wallabies, but there were several occassions tonight where he needed to take charge and he didnt.
And the Wallaby discipline was terrible. Rocky needed to sort that out.

I dont think he will lead the team next year.
I can see Pocock taking over.

I said ages ago that he shouldn't be captain. I dispute if he even should be in the side on S14 form. In fact he played one good game all year, against the Bok last week and spent most of that game on the wing or in the centres as the Bok didn't contest the breakdown.

Agree Pocock could be captain but only if it didn't effect his game. I would rather Genia get the gig myself.

He is also injured. See how he runs? If he has to change direction at all, he practically stops dead and limps. I'm trying to figure out which leg it is. I think left.

[hijack] And we need Hodgson to run onto the bloody park![/hijack]

Scarfman, Hodgson to 8 perhaps?
We cant pull Pocock, and i dont want to move Elsom from 6...

And Gnostic, Im not sure Genia wants it. He took the Reds captaincy against his will I think.
But I agree, it has to be one of those two really.

Sack the Bastard. Pocock and Genia to form the captaincy group (who is vice I don't care). Higgers to be blooded on the spring tour and Rocky left at home for a break.

WHy bother with the break? He is obviously just waiting to return to Ireland for more Euros. He couldn't have been more disinterested in the S14 and his form in the tests has been nothing special. Before anybody points out his game against the Bok, yes he did well for a 109kg centre or winger.

Rocky is a world class player. He isnt in top form at the moment (we all though he had it back last week, but that doesnt seem to be the case).

If he no longer has to worry about the captaincy, then he may get his form back again. I just hope that it wont hurt Genia or Pococks form if they are given it.

If so, just give it to Dick Brown and be done with it. If he loses form, no-one will notice!

Irregardless of his playing performance, he doesn't have the composure or motivation factor to be captain

genia was worse than elsom tonight, its just bias, if burgess was out there then you would crucify him for having exactly the same game.

pocock and genia both have to much on there shoulders to have more pressure.

Benn should be captain as he is the most consistant performer we have had over the last two years, rarely gets beaten and seems to have a very cool head. Let him lay the platform and let genia and pocock just play there natural games.

WJ is right Genia was crap tonight & worse than Elsom, but I think Genia would make a better captain & player if given the leadership.

Pocock would also make a good captain but Genia has less on his plate as Pocock is busy throwing himself into every ruck & making 1000 tackles & hit ups.

Richie seems to manage with it all.

yeah, but richie seems to have a brain also. I dont think Genia is anywhere near ready, you can make an argument for Pocock but he is only one season in, i say let rocky stay, we go home early in 2011 but we have a huge clean out and start with a fresh slate, no point doing it now and letting the next generation get smashed for 18 months, Keven Rudd would back me.

You can't just look at Elsom, he didn't decide to be captain. You have to look at the man who appointed him: Robbie Deans. What a tosscake.

Pocock has a brain, and if he is not an autopick, I don't know who is. Genia doesn't want captaincy, and fair enough. Kevin Rudd is currently on opiates, so his opinion may not be worth much...

Think he lost the plot a bit, but at least he got stuck in. There is no out-and-out leader in this side, so I would prefer a doer to a talker. Elsom tried to lead from the front, which is what you should be doing when your team is being belted. And lets remember his captaincy didn't cause the elementry errors which cost them tonight.

Hello, and welcome to Naza's anti-Elsom bandwagon. I built the cart 3 years ago and have been waiting for some dopey mules to get the momentum going. Nice of you all to finally catch up, wake up and realise Rocky is a myth and a powderpuff.

Noticed you were mighty silent last week though. Didn't have his best game tonight, but don't think he was our worst. He has ticker, and although he may not be a captain he is our best 6 any day of the week.
