How good! A Downlands forum finally! Perhaps the boys from the range can get a little credit here instead of always having to read how lucky they were to win!

Came across a few interesting posts regarding Downlands in both AIC and GPS Forums… what is more interesting those members are allowed to refer to Downlands when talking about the form of GPS/AIC teams, and recent results - however when posters inquired about Downlands they are shut down…. Is that a little hypocritical or is it just me…. But all know that it is the way Downlands have been treated throughout its existence. Stay with me as I throw a few lines out and setting a record straight in regards to a few posts

AIC forum poster “At the u18 QLD state champs in Townsville last week Downlands had 18/19 players in the darling downs team as a 1st XV really. and met north had 6 from Padua, 5 from Pats, 3 from BGS and the rest from random schools. No Nudgee or Marist boys. Met North won 18-14.”

response to that - its amazing how the best of the above schools barely best a Downlands 1st XV / 2 XV combination. At least 5 of Downlands starting 1st XV did not participate in this

Futhermore GPS forum states that both BGS and TSS were not at full strength when beaten by Downlands earlier in the season. I happen to come across this little gem and know for a fact # 24 and 25 played most of the game. Granted - this was a trial, but Downlands was also not full strength missing 2 to 3 starting players due to injury and Im confident in saying - im sure the BGS game would have been the same.

People just need to give a little credit where its due! Downlands are a school that punches waaaaay above its weight with maybe 400 boys to pick from vs AIC and GPS schools with probably a 1500 + …. Tells you a story of the lads from up the range! Good on you!

Hey mate,

You seem to know a lot about the downlands boys, the boys that were at the state champs the 4 and 5 for Downlands. Both missed out on QLD School boys but in my mind were the best lock pair of the weekend. just wondering if they are year 12 boys or will be around again next year. was just very impressed and felt they were hard done by when the selections where announced. The other one was the 12 but he got picked in one of the QLD teams.

Hey Coach - from my understanding, 3 total got selected from Downlands. One of the second-rowers made it; I am unsure of their ages though.
