Just out of interest, who the hell carries $60K around and feels secure?
This seems odd. Surely the money for playing would be deposited into the players bank account. At worst, perhaps a cheque made out to the player.
Side note: Doesn't being paid in cash negate the need to declare this money as earnings for the year, and therefore no tax is paid? Is this why they have the cash in big bundles?

Well you know, I'm going to have take my rugby opinions elsewhere too, if I can't pass a bit of ill-informed speculation on topics I know nothing about. I thought that was the very purpose of these fora. Perhaps if I'd played rugby at an international level I'd understand.

I'm starting to smell the fetid air of smug superiority creeping into discussions on all things Rugby. First we have Burke saying we have no right to boo, clap, moan or indeed make any noise at all when watching a game unless we have played at the highest level, then Link comes out with his "unless you have been in a scrum you go to the back of the comments line".
Now, there is a hint that any ill-informed, unknowledgable internet forum rugby fan should best just keep quiet and have no opinion on anything, lest it sparks some debate. Of course, the ill-informed, unknowledgable unwashed masses accounts for the vast majority of the internet population.
Hell, I don't know how many things in this world work, or even what the implications of those things are if they are tinkered with, but that doesn't stop me having an opinion on some of them when the mood takes me.
Stick to the forum rules, mind your P's and Q's and let rip, I say.
As to those in the highest levels of S15 and international rugby who try to tell me what I can and can't comment on because I "never played at that level", all I will say is: I will keep quiet as soon as I have all my money back that I spent contributing to your salaries over the years.
