beale actually looked like he had bulked up muscle wise to me, he did alot of straight running at 12 and looked good for it, he also seemed alot more confident in defence.

burgess hardly played 9, he was on the wing for most of it with valo in there, i expect kingi to drop and the other three to all tour though.

Palu was a monster in attack and defence, he was coming on and off alot though so not sure on the fitness front.

gits ran mostly at 12 with barnes inside him and looked alot better for it, would say though that quade and beale at 10/12 didnt look outoplayed at all.

JOC (James O'Connor) looked out of his depth, scrums were really fine, there wasnt much to see in them.

Cooper was looking good and then bad with goofy mistakes; was good at getting one arm loose in the tackle to offload. KB (Kurtley Beale) at 12 only didn't get a lot of great pill but wouldn't look out of place as a dirt-tracker on tour. He still looks too big and am surprised that no journo has mentioned it.
Too big for what? Looks like he'll be a solid 12 for the tahs. Maybe journo's realise that too seeing as the Tahs have Barnes now.

Adam Freier says: " @LoteTuqiri Trial was greeeat! Cliffy and Crossy killed it. Hoilesy started well before he came of with a little hammy twinge-he should tour"

i got given an autograph sheet by the ARU, had a very out of date squad photo on it with autograph space underneath, no phil waugh, but lote tuqiri was front and centre in it.

Yeah Beale looked OK on defence; enough so that one wasn't looking for a missed tackle. Early days though.

Scrum - I notice that Ben Alexander went to ground a few times when he was playing LHP against Dunning. Shoulders too low - or knees not bent enough, whatever.

Seems to be happening quite a bit. He had problems getting a hit on. It started in the 2nd half against the Boks and was a real problem against the ABs. That's inexperience and he will be tested when he packs against the fat arses up north.

Can't remember if Moore had gone off yet, or if he had and young Fitzpatrick was on. I think it was Fitzy.

Apparently TPN and Fitzpatrick were pretty awful with their lineout throwing. Moore far better in that department. Also read on ROAR that Deans’ restarted play with a line-out rather than a scrum.

Moore was just as bad, the main factor was there was a crapload of wind, kicking away from the car park end was almost impossible, barnes and giteau had a couple of kicks hold up and travel about 10 metres because of it but overall all three hookers did alright in it.

the restarts of play were done by choice. for the first forty or so, the wombats were on attack only unless the ball was turned over, so every spilt ball saw the game restart and the teams switch sides so the wombats were attacking the nerest goal line. this whole period saw lineouts used as a restart while the last half hour was used with scrums.

it wasnt a game, the longest stretch of game time was about ten minutes but with every drop ball, try or penalty there was a five minute huddle and break before the restart.

Well the ROAR article I read suggested Moore was far more accurate. I'd still start with TPN though.

TPN & FITZ wernt bad, i would suggest there was some bias on the roar, and i know thats coming from me. there is no hooker in international rugby that would have thrown well in the conditions yesterday

There was a gale force wind in Sydney yesterday - throwing straight in those conditions may not have been seen as a good thing.

I've seen Fitzy throw for Eastwood and he's pretty bloody good. And don't try to lay on that "its only club rugby" - he can throw straight at hit a jumper at the top of his arc. That is the best place to start.
