^ don't know much about McLeod but the other two won Super Rugby contracts on the back of good M10 Cup form & have come through the age group pathway. LF is a beast & Enari is a very nippy 9 who's not afraid to boss his pack around.

McDermott on the bench could be the result of being absolutely bullied by the Sharks last week.

Or you know, it could be the fact he's been playing every week since Jan 17, flown to the republic and south america and still played another 3 more (3rd being the Crusaders game) games without a break. I'd imagine he'd be bit fatigue and they're managing his workload.

Brumby Runner seems to take a overly critical view of players who are competing with his own Brumbies players for wallaby positions, manages to find criticisms where others can’t.

McDermott on the bench could be the result of being absolutely bullied by the Sharks last week. Expect more of the same from the Saders at breakdown time. Tate has some strong points, but also apparently is weak behind a pack going backwards. ASY (Angus Scott-Young) one of the Reds best last week and deserves his spot.

Your ridiculous and mystical bias-based perceptions of Reds players widely seen as better than a particular favourite Brumby player of yours is so very much welcome and appreciated in this thread.

I don't see Powell making it. Reckon he'll be leap frogged by McDermott and Louwrens, who will fight for the bench behind Nic White.

Fark me. BR would contend that a they should have served up a Clonakilla Shiraz over the Cana Syrah (John 2:6-10) from Jesus's own cellar at the wedding in Cana.

Just a gentle reminder of which Super Rugby team leads the Aussie conference and topped it last year to make the semi finals. And except for Rory Arnold (sorely missed) and Christian Lealiifano, is essentially the same team. Form does count.

Now, Tate had a shocker at the back of the ruck against the Sharks. Lost the ball on a number of occasions and was hurried into errors on others. Over the season so far, he has not convincingly outplayed Powell - I'd say they are on par. Joe played behind a beaten pack in the first game of the year but still had nowhere near the errors that Tate had last weekend. The opposition? The Reds, of course, and who won the game?

My comment which has so upset many posters here, including the omnipresent Braveheart, addressed his game last week with not one mention of Powell or anybody else in the No 9 spot. It is not inconceivable that Brad Thorn wanted to give him a rest against the Cru who will also be expected to hit the rucks hard in the upcoming match. The last bit is just my speculation, but the rest is fact. Anyone reading Powell into my comment is just illustrating their own feeling of inadequacy on behalf of Tate.

Right now, both Tate and Joe are the front runners for the No 9 spot with the Wallabies. I am not even considering Nic White until he lands back here permanently. If there is to be a wild card, it will be Louwrens from the Rebels if his eligibility can be established.

You misread me. Me and I think most others are having a subtle dig at you because we don't think Joe Powell is ever likely to be the first choice Wallaby halfback for any length of time.

I'm unsure why you wouldn't consider Nic White. I don't think anyone else will be surprised if he is the first choice Wallaby halfback this year.

Ironically I see Joe Powell has been ‘dropped’ to the bench for the Brumbies game.

Hmmm yes yes. He is prone to the odd error and getting flustered under pressure so the Brumbies are likely trying to manage this. Not sure what this mean for his Wallabies chances now; they could be damaged? There’s some excellent talent coming through in the other franchises. Just for a totally off-the-top-of-my-head example: that young Reds halfback seems to have it on a piece of string. Boy, what a goer! 10 year Wallaby I reckon. Anyway, hope you all read this. If not I’ll make sure to post identical thoughts in every other thread for your enjoyment.

Well he is by far and away the least balanced poster on these forums, inclusive of all the mad bastards from perth who've moved onto saner pastures

Surely even you can see the irony of both your original post and this one BR - McDermott is on the bench so he must automatically have been dropped, however if we assume the same about Powell it can only be because of our own ‘feelings of inadequacy towards Tate’.

I mean I love your passion & parochialism- and from my perspective I am definitely just trying to stir you up a bit - but you do make it pretty easy a lot of the time.

Bringing it back to the Reds and this game. What's the go with Moses Sorovi? I thought he was a little rough around the edges but he did have some nice energy. Has he officially slipped into 3rd place or is this some rotation at play?

He's been usurped by a Samoan international.

BR agree with your comments about Tate. In all honesty I have expected more from Tate in these first 5 games. Some great tries in free run but development from last year I have not seen the improvement I expected. In comparison to Powell, Tate is a far dominant player. In all honesty I don’t see an absolute dominant half across all Aus conference teams. Both half back or fly half. Maybe I’m caught in the 90’s where I think there was an abundance.
