It's about 5 kilometres, but it takes about 3 hours.

Unless a truck crashes on the motorway, then you'll experience some delays.

The poor Waratahs are severely disadvantaged by having by far the longest trip to the airport. ;)
Why? Where's your airport? Inform us uninformed Saffas please :nta:
Botany Bay. They have to be sent there by ship, and aren't allowed go through security to the departures lounge until they've done four years indentured labour in the SFS training paddock...

About right. On top of that McQuarie Bank, owners of the airport will rip them off for their children's inheritance.

Scarfie, you're just no fun some days, you know that...? ::)

He's right. I live only about 20km from the airport. Packed breakfast and lunch is a good idea, and when I get there I'm usually already hungry for dinner. Long haul travel to Europe is a piece of piss compared to just getting to the airport in Sydney.

Blue - are you a Bulls or Tahs fan? Coz your previous avatar was a Tah player, but now it's a Bull. Some of your comments suggest you're a Bulls fan? Maybe an expat?

XskrniWP hoener.

Bulls expat living in Sydney. My sole purpose here is to translate Paarl's posts to the masses :lmao:

I get paid for it.

The previous avatar was Carter. No, not the good Kiwi one. The Tom variety, a subject of much mirth, controversy and cheap entertainment around here.

AND the Waratahs, unlike all others, must go through the gate.

And the taxi fare for going across the Bridge, for example, to the airport is dearer than some of the domestic airfares...go figure...

Don't worry Thomond, I never believed your first reply anyway, was funny nonetheless.

Sounds like a real mission to get to your airport then. Is that really the best location you guys have for it?

Thanks for clearing that up Blue. Yes I can see why you have to clear up PaarlBok's posts on here, can imagine they sometimes don't make sense for non-Saffas. Luckily we understand what he's talking about though.

Good for you getting out of SA so soon. Place is becoming a real shithole right about now.

Ja I could not understand that strange looking Brute you had, bliksem. ;)

Must say my Brute broer, H2nr2, (his real name is Spies) using the best thought out example. Know my memory and eye sight is fading by the day but remember some Red posters complained heavily about the unfairness of them having to travel all the way to face the Brutes at home, using the jet lag kak before that specific match.

Anyway myself think the best medicine for jet lag is winning between the 4 white lines. No matter of its on the south pole. If you want to be the best, you just have to beat the best.

Yes Oom, there are very few things that irk me as much as blaming JetLag for poor performance. It almost sounds as bad as Suzie back in 1995 :angryfire: and I always thought us Saffas were the worst at it, but seeing it so much out of the Aussie press - notably Andy Friend - we may have the new Jetlag Kings :yay

What other pieces make up "so much"?

Fark I don't recall where they were, you read your own news, you should know ;)

So, you made up your assertion that many Australians are complaining about the Waratahs having to travel to RSA for the semi.

You would do well to read the article re Andy Friend's comments again - closely. Friend is a disinterested party and is giving an opinion about one factor which he believes may affect the outcomes of the semis. I can't find a shred of "complaint" in the quotes from him. Can you?

Friend said it was a 'large ask' - his precise words. Reading the rest it gave me the impression that it was somehow unfair to the Saders, like us Saffas are cheating in some way by forcing them to fly all the way here, like they're the first team to ever do it.

Let's just agree that we interpret the noise made differently.

Saying something is a "large ask" is a very long way from complaining about anything. Someone might say that a team required to score 500 in the fourth innings of a cricket test faces a "large ask" - where is the complaint? Someone else might say that the NSW Waratahs, with a historical 80 per cent loss ratio in NZ, were facing a "large ask" in a game against the Crusaders in NZ - where is the complaint? Someone else might say that a horse conceding 10kg all round in a race faced a "large ask" - where is the complaint?

I don't think this is a matter of "noise". I think those who want to have a whinge about whingeing should be very specific in defining who, in their views, is complaining (sic) about what. They should also be very clear in understanding "complaining".

I have broken a Forum rule here, so shall not be able to reply.

Putting it that way makes me understand it better. OK fair enough, point taken.

By the way, what forum rule have you broken?
