Re: Cheifs V Waratahs, Hamilton

I was wondering about that, seems at odds with the statement
“Bringing players back the quality of Benn Robinson and Rob Horne will be a real boost,” said Hickey. “They’ve really worked hard to ensure they’re in the best possible shape for this match and we wouldn’t take them in to the game if they weren’t confident in their own ability to do the job.

fortunately Palmer's name is listed first...

its about time, carter will unleash and red faces will be seen on the yellow scarf froums coming up with ways to discredit him.

in person carter is actually pretty fast, i just think it doesnt translate onto tv well, he is sorta like the hynes of the tahs.

The main property Carter shares with Hynes is that his presence on the field increases the Reds' chance of winning.

i saw that earlier this year in round one, carter v hynes, i must have been drunker than i remember cos i swear carter helped the tahs win that one.

Whether it is Barnes/Carter/Horne or Hangers/Carter/Horne or any combination of the above, they will choose -- in my opinion poorly -- to kick the leather off the ball (probably executing their kicks poorly like they did last weekend) looking for "TERRITORY" and Sivivatu, Muliaina and Co will counter attack from everywhere.

Sivivatu and Muliaina are out injured...

Carter to punch it up in midfield and go to ground quickly, then horne to pick up the pill and break 2 or 3 tackles before offloading to turner, who flips on the afterburn and scores.

Palmer I have no problem with at scrum time - but he's a bit of a pot plant. Tilse is good around the park but useless at scrum time.

I rekkon Bring on Hangas for Horne at Half time and move everyone outside one (barnes to centre, carter to outside)

if we want to win the final we cannot risk losing horne

fuck the pretty football now. You don't need bonus points just yet right? Just win the footy.

Some good posts here. Bruce - fair enough mate, but you can't get all worked up every time someone criticises Carter. Zeedok - awesome first post, you had a lot stored up to say. Welcome aboard.

There's just no picking this game. Chiefs (or Cheifs) have nothing to play for, they might not turn up, or they might decide the throw the ball around and score 40. Waratahs forwards will be improved by FatCat but really do not seem like a top 4 team right now.

I like the idea of using Carter as the dummy runner at 12. But I reckon Barnes will kick it down the throats of the Chiefs's back 3 because it is the silliest possible thing to do.

In short, we'll be very lucky to get away with this one.

How about we instead discuss how painful it is to see the typo in the thread title everytime I look at this thread?

To answer my own question, I guess it is Scott Wisemantle, the skills coach?
Seems you like to inflict pain on yourself for that matter...its WisemantEL...
It's important to self check your own spelling and grammar as getting it correct is its own reward.

Would you gentlemen be kind enough to leave the spelling and punctuation pedantry to me? thnak yuo. ::) ::) ::)

lets keep the focus on the footy lads? The odd joke is fine, but really stringing these back to back aint what we're about.
