With Cooper playing this well (and dependent on staying out of jail), Barnes and Giteau may be competing for the 12 jersey...

I don't think any other selection for those two makes sense.

i think the players who have impressed me the most have been Adam Byrnes and Van Humphries, two very seemingly under rated players, albeit they havent been up against the likes of Matfield or Botha, but they have both been pretty good come lineout time and very good around the field.

I think Barnes is any position is vastly overrated.

Link knows how to use his players.

Byrnes and Humphries are two players I rate. However, they both have weaknesses in their game.
For Byrnes it's his ball handling and for Humphries his lack of athleticism (probably due to his age). Through good coaching Link has made sure that both these players play a role in the team that, rather than exposing their limitations, highlights their strengths.

That's the difference - maybe if Barnes were still in a red jersey this year we'd have vastly different opinions.

I really don't think playing for a muppet like Hickey makes anyone look good. Just look at Kurtley for an example...

Hopefully we are seeing the genesis of our national 9-10-12 problem.
With Cooper and genia becommin very good, this must eventually force Giteau to 12 where he belongs.
I can't see any sane coach having Gits at 10 when Cooper is displaying such improvement but above all some level headedness.
Now, all we ned to do is eradicated that bloody stupid bunny hop.
Oh by the way - yes I panned Cooper many time is the past but I must admit he has shown form and maturity well beyond hs previous exhibitions. Good on him -
Maybe we should get tall the players to go steal some more laptops if that's the answer.

I can't see any sane coach playing Alexander at loosehead when he's the incumbent Wallaby tighthead.

Oh wait...

Giteau barely deserves to be in the Brumby team let alone the Wallabies at the moment. I have doubt that even if he goes back to 12 he will ever be a 'great' player. I'm starting to get on the naza train with this bloke.

I really hate to say it, but I will remind you guys again. Cooper has a trial where he is in pretty much deep shit for, let's really not get too far ahead of ourselves. Because it is bloody concerning.

Chiefs prop Sona Taumalolo has been cited for a late tackle on Reds fly-half Quade Cooper during the Chiefs' shock defeat to the Reds on Friday
That's harsh, had the refs and the assistant seen it, it would have produced a max sanction of yellow. I hope he doesn't get suspended, he apologised after it.

I thought it should've been a penalty and nothing else. If there is any consistency he shouldn't be suspended. But the judicaries tend to be a bit random

i dont care whether Cooper is found guilty, as long as he keeps his nose clean between now and then, already this season he has shown amazing maturity and real charcter development, if he continues as he has already this season then the ARU and QRU should keep him on board.

A great result, a great comeback, and definitely great for Aussie rugby.

The part that makes me green (as a Waratahs supporter) is the passion, commitment, team ethic, gusto (the list goes on!) the Reds have, thereby highlighting exactly what the Waratahs seem to lack. In many positions (but not all) the Waratahs have the better players on paper, but that means nothing without the ingredients the Reds bring to their game.

I'm not yet handing out Wallaby jerseys (in my head) to half the Reds team, but I wouldn't rule it out by the end of the season if they keep developing.

I'm still concerned about Turinui's lack of pace, and the small matter the 20 minute Chiefs try fest (if Donald kicks the conversions it is a different result), but I'm happy to drink a toast to the only Aussie team that plays with heart and improves every week.

Come on the Reds!!!

Well done Reds. Genia and forwards were excellent. I thought Quade had a pretty shite game compared with his earlier performances. He is the form 10 though for Oz but has the advantage of having one of the best scrum halves in the world next to him.

I think the Chiefs looked pretty buggered from their travel though.

Thanks Reds for propping up my Centrebet account. $7.50 for the win? I was all over it like Oprah on a baked ham.

Scarfy you legend !!! :thumb

I was only brave enough to take the Reds with the start and had a sneaky $ 5 on Reds by 8 at 67-1. Pity Quade missed that one shot..lol.

Anyways.. Great win !!! Might checks the Sunday Brizzo flights and definately going to the Tahs Friday game.
