its actually not a bad lineup considering there are 5 backs injured

I'm gutted we won't be playing at full strength, I think the Chiefs are overated ATM. Look at who they've beat & all of a sudden their the best thing since sliced bread.

The Sharks have been pretty piss poor & the Lions are always crap & the Force without a stack of wallabies were still able to stay in touch for 40 minutes.

The Reds won't win this weekend but if it's dry pitch I see no reason that they can't put some points on this chiefs outfit.

I agree, Disco. A full-strength Reds team would give most teams a serious fight, and beat more than a few. I fear the depth issues will stuff most, if not all the Aussie teams.
Would be great to see though. 2 very dangerous backlines with all on deck.

I am very keen to see Morahan and Chambers start a game, I think both will do well.

Apart from the back 3 the rest of the reds are pretty much the same. I'm calling for another upset, with defence winning the game.

Chambers doesn't seem that quick to turn around. but looks willing to have a go.

wingers don't win games.

This game can be won 1-10.

Considering who the Chiefs wingers are, I hope that comment doesn't bite us on the arse.

The key will be to play very structured, and have defensive alignments set very quickly. I suspect Ant and Morgs will be getting in the face of the Chiefs in defense to try and strangle their play and put pressure on Donald. As long as we don't let quick turnover tries in, then we can win.

Not confident about this one. Hope the Reds can at least keep it close. The Cheifs have heaps of points in them and Qld may struggle to keep up.

Mmmm.

I think the Chiefs will be keen to get it wide at every sniff, so if the Reds forwards are on their game and get wide they could cause a few errors in a returning Sivi and Mils.

Latimer is back in the starting lineup and you never know what you get from Messam (ie brilliance one second, brainfart the next), and the Chiefs locks are very green as well.

Yes they have only beaten chumps thus far but the front row for the Chiefs are playing well (these guys have got through a ton of work in the first 3 rounds) and Donalds goal kicking has been excellent.

I like the Reds side, considering the injuries, but still see a 15 point Chiefs victory. If the Reds don't muscle up, it could get real messy. The only thing going for the Reds right now is a settled pack and settled starting inside backs.

I don't think the Chiefs have a top pack, but it isn't weak either. The Chiefs real strength is in their backs, which is why if the Reds pack can only manage parity, it will be a long day for the Reds, especially as the Reds are fielding effectively a whole second string back 3.

Weather is good 24 degs and a light westerly.
Just what the Reds want.
Should drop a few more degs by game time.
Perfect night for rugby.

Out of interest, who is rating the chiefs the best thing since slice bread? I'm certainly not, I'm worried about this reds game as a banana skin!

Am enjoying watching them play rugby, but aware it's not like they have faced any of the top sides as yet. That seems to be the consensus everywhere I look.

Gotta love Planet Rugbys live updates --

And we're away! High hanging kick-off from Berrick Barnes is taken well by Adam Byrnes who followed up well - oh dear, I spoke to soon... the Reds lock couldn't hang on and sets up the first scrum of the match, which will be a Chiefs put-in.
