That last try was from a definite knock-on that was missed by the referee (according to all the league supporters surrounding me that is all that happens in rugby "all this game has is knock ons, forward passes and guys jumping all over each other" or words to that effect - I did try to educate them though didn't ask them to watch the passes from dummy half in their game too closely in future).

It was good to see Richie back playing again, didn't take him long to get back in the swing. 2 mins on and he enters a ruck through the gate on Chiefs ball to slow it down by diving over the ruck. Only problem was he did it from the Chiefs side. I had a wry smile at that one and even cheered when he was penalised at one point (about time I thought) for his old hit-spin-flop trick. On the form shown in this game the Crusaders are very beatable, though they did still manage a BP win.

Had to laugh when Richie entered the ruck from the side, is penalized and the commentators only mention the penalty and not the player, like he was completely immune to a penalty..

The Crusaders had far more intensity than the chiefs and you could see that they would win from the kick off and the chiefs were just holding on, but holy shit they get away with some much because they do it with dynamism. They are offside at most rucks, many of their ruck turnovers are created by players driving over and down past the ball preventing the opposition getting near the ball. Those past the ball stand up and loiter impeding the opposition from joining the ruck.

I wonder what will come of Messam's couple of punches to Flynn's head. From what I saw Flynn deserved it and more as he rucked Messam to the face. I think if Messam wasn't hurt from the rucking Flynn would have been smashed into next week by a few more punches than he got.

Word is Read will be rested next week. But who would you bench for Richie... Todd or Whitelock. Tough one, probably Whitelock because Richie can play like a 6.

Those Franks bros.. jesus what are they made out of?

Proper effective strength and conditioning FOR A PROP, and technical skills training. In Australia we select props who run around like wingers, fatten them up and laud them for scoring tries and then whinge when they get penalised to the shit house for being unable to scrum.

The one I saw, the commentators specifically named him. He did go and have a chat to the ref after as well, probably just to introduce himself, as he's been out for a while and the ref might not have known him. Surely he didn't do it more than once? That wouldn't be playing to the ref at all well! ;)

Good luck with that.

Did not take long for Richie to get back to his cheating ways.

Did not take long for people to start bitching about him again either. He's a backrower, I'm one myself, it's our job to push the boundaries, if the refs are too stupid not to pick it up then all power to the backrow.
