I think the Tahs have already left their run too late - but having conceded that, there is something in the wind down in Tah land - something that has been promising for a very long time found its shape in Port Elizabeth, and I would not be at all surprised to see a NSW Team with a very different mindset for the remainder of the season...

- In fact, there seems to be a 'freshness' about all the Australian Clubs this year, as though they have managed to throw off some kind of dead-weight. Even the Rebels at various times this season appear to be an extremely well-performed rugby team.

I agree. Without wanting to Jonah any player (in the Old Testament not in the Lomu sense) the Oz franchises are having a much better run with injuries this season. With the obvious exception of Pocock, the vast majority of "first choice" Wallabies have seen plenty of Super Rugby game time.

Team Rehab has largely returned to the fray and it's been great to see players such as the Honey Badger return from injury with a fresh and aggressive approach.

I think it's pretty close to the mark. Maybe the Cheetahs could be 5th and the Brumbies a little lower (Reds record in last 5 matches is slightly better than Brumbies). Brumbies are of course still ahead of the Reds on the table.

Reds have made a habit of choking when they get the chance to overtake the brumbies....
