A short term replacement for McDuling at the reds perhaps?
I was of the opinion that the Tahs, Brumbies and Force have used their Marquee allowances - leaving only the Reds and the Rebels as possibilities...

The Reds benefitted from some age in the back row last year. Perhaps they're looking to do it again.
I'm probably having a mental blank but I can't think our marquee player is?
I thought Speight and Yanuyanutawa were your Emerging and Marquee players respectivley, but Brumbies.com.au only mentions Speight... Perhaps the Marquee is still available at the Brumbies.I'm probably having a mental blank but I can't think our marquee player is?

Agree - watched him as a replacement in the Racing v Toulouse game - he looked out of condition, made some poor decisions with ball in hand, timing looked off, and generally was underwhelming. I can't see him lasting a half of Super rugby. If the Rebels had one bright spot last year I thought it was their backrow, Lipman, Saffy and Delve were serviceably respectable. Depth?, can't comment, but with Delve off to Frogland there's a spot for Chabal. Has he played much decent rugby at 8?
Chabal will/would find the pace and athleticism of Super Rugby a challenge, there aren't too many games played on muddy, or even heavy, pitches. I could see him in a super-sub role for the Rebels as cover for 4/5/6/8. Let's hope the change of scenery gives him a new lease of life and drags a few more punters through the gates in Melbourne.

Why would Jerry Yanuyanutawa need to be listed as a marquee player? There was speculation that he would play for Fiji in last year's World Cup but it didn't eventuate. A couple of years ago he was selected in an Australian A squad but never took the field. This would confirm his eligibility to play for the Wallabies.
Could say the same about Clarence Tillman after his encounter SBW but not in person. Reminds of when David Schultz - WWF - slapped 20/20 reporter David Stossel to the ground for suggesting that wrestling was fake.If I were you, lincoln, and I happened to bump into him I would be inclined not to pass those thoughts on to him.
