Mate Horrible Take.
Shore have no strike outwide losing 50-0 to the Blue and Gold.
Best game easily will be Scots Vs Waverley at the regarded 'Death Valley'.
Cheers Boys:cool:

Totally agree Bob. Shore have had a massive downfall since winning GPS last season.

Correct RnB
Trinity 1xv V TKS 1xv
Aloys 1xv V TKS 2xv
Trinity 2xv V TKS 3xv
Aloys 2xv V TKS 4xv

didn’t Aloys beat Scot’s 1st Xv? I believe I read that on the aagps forum.

if so interesting on why they would play Kings 2xv ? Or do I have them mixed up with another cas school.

Anyone have information on Newingtons recent form, i've heard Cranbrook will be entering a weaker team due to many short term injurys sustainted in trials so will be interesting to see how the younger players approch there debut.

The 1st XV lost in a nail biting classic versus Kings 1st XV 38-35 and the 2nds lost 31-0 to Kings 2nds. Good test for Cranbrook, and their depth.

Cranbrook vs Newington Predictions?

1s, 2s and 3s

Who has everyone got
Should be some solid contests this weekend. If Cranbrook can show a bit of promise out there, it’ll go a long way. That said, as mentioned earlier, they’re a bit banged up at the moment carrying a few short-term injuries and blooding some debutants in both the 1st and 2nd XVs.

Cranbrook to win all 3 in a whitewash then head into CAS as top favourites.
I dont mind that, i feel cranbrooks has created a powerfull full strength 1s side but injurys have had them yet to really fire. If cranbrook can field their full strength side throughout CAS dont rule them out.

1s, 2s and 3s

I've got the 3s being a good game, Newington by a few. As for the seconds, i dont see much promise for cranbrook coming off a 68-0 loss to riverview. 1s will also be good but cranbrook may struggle to overcome a powerful Newington side with there current injury ridden XV.

Hi all,

I am curious to learn of any talent in the younger year groups of the CAS comp. Any young guns to look out for?

Thanks.

Good question there, scrumbledore I've noticed that Cranbrook, Aloys, and Trinity all lack depth in the younger years, which doesn't bode well for a strong program. Also I think it's time to ditch the AFL and soccer programs for CAS and just keep rugby, like it was back in the day, as it has taken away from key talent pools and culture.

Thoughts?

Thanks OMan.

Barker, Waverly, and Know have always been formidable rugby schools. I truly wonder why the remaining CAS schools, particularly Aloys and Cranbrook, avoid investing into their younger rugby programs.

Not only in regard to expenditure, but reinventing their school image and lean into the rugby culture. Especially as it becomes more and more popular.

Agreed with Soccer, Australia has never been a soccer nation that is competitive at the hgihest level, yet it seems the global dominance of the game draws so many players. Schools have soccer teams to the 7ths and 8ths! From my experience back at school, i remeber countless large rugby players in lower teams due to lack of ball and technical skills being taken by soccer programs, weakening numbers and size in rugby programs. Obviously i think there would be some kids who are better at soccer or more suited for it, making removal of programs unfair, but just something to think about.
