Armchair Selector

Johnnie Wallace (23)
By that reasoning, the CAS rep team will be all Knox/Waves? Seems both unfair and unlikely given the talent in the other teams, and presumably the desire not to disenfranchise those other CAS schools. I'd imagine Scots and Shore would also be less than thrilled. Can't see it happening - I don't mean the comps you posit, but the suggested higher level selection policy.

I cannot possibly see Scots being in the div 2 comp considering they won the GPS competition!

I strongly doubt rep selection would be based on what competition your school participates in.

I can 100% confirm that The Medical Joker is an avid St Aloys supporter who just appreciates good footy when he sees it. Is not a Knox supporter at all..

Who posts as if he's a Waverley supporter and with a Waverley College logo. Sounds like a mischievous schoolboy.

Sorry in my old age I tend to get Waverley and the lads from Milsons point in a mix. I'm sure The Medical Joker is as much of a Waverley supporter as yourself and White line Fever

the waverley team for 2017 is a better team across the paddock, they just need to fill Mohi, Jordan and Fuller's shoes as the game winners.

I agree Waverley should be strong this year. I like the proposed new competition structure. I think it's a great way for the CAS teams to test themselves against better teams in some instances and Have the chance to dominate teams in other instances. The same could not be said if the current Comp set-up.
All current CAS schools will be better for it.

I wouldn't say they'll be a better team but they look very strong except maybe for the back three. It will interesting to see who fills those positions.
The coaches will mold them into a good team who play to their strengths.

MJ are you actually related to Waverley? Your previous posts show otherwise. (In particular not putting moretti in this team, playing Cornish at 7 and putting Humphries in the team from Knox. An unknown second rower unlikely to have been noticed by anyone outside of Knox.)

I disagree that poor refereeing lost Knox the game. Letting their opposition put on 25 points in the matter of 20 minutes did.

On a side note- it appears Knox supporters are still annoyed at the penalty awarded as a result of their driving maul set up. Maybe, if Knox had a plan B they wouldn't still be complaining about a referee spotting their illegal maul set up.
W88,

Frost is clearly a front runner for very high rep honours. who else do you think will rep NSW 1 and higher?

I must say I do believe we got lucky, all though it pains me I think Knox was a better side however some poor reffing and an intercept was the difference we looked stronger on the day no doubt but they were a better side in my opinion. Clearly showed as our dominance could only do such little damage

The best team won on the day; nothing to do with luck or refereeing decisions.

The intercept pass was caused by Waverley's rushing defence forcing a mistake. The player who scored it had to be in the right place at the right time and took advantage of an opportunity.
That's footy.

^^^^^

I didn't mention Frost, so I'm not sure why he has been brought up.

He will definitely be involved with selections for NSW and AUS. Hopefully he makes a full recovery with his shoulder and can put in another strong off season to give him the best shot for next year.
Just wondering who else from 2017 CAS might be seriously pushing for high rep honours

THB, I would place these boys in with a strong chance based on 2016 performance

- Frost (K)
- Coghill (B)
- Reimer (B)
- Moretti (W)
- Wright (W)

And my early predictions for season 2017:

1. Waverley
2. Barker
3. Knox
4. Aloys
5. Trinity
6. Cranbrook

What position do they play?

White line fever

Fred Wood (13)
Moretti is not a 2nd row, he could be a flanker but in my opinion, given his all round skills, should be a number 8 for any team so he can control tha back of the scrum, and the attack on the opposition backline. He has played a very strong 1st year in the first 15 with massive impact in year 10.
Now is his time to be really something special, so let him loose.

Frost (2nd Row)
Coghill (Hooker)
Reimer (Back Row)
Moretti (2nd/Back Row)
Wright (Hooker)

Coghill will need to work on his throw. Rahme from Aloys is also a talented front rower who can play both hooker and prop.
Did any make it to Nationals this year?

No great backs at CAS to emulate Armstrong?
